Should min wage be raised to $15 an hour nationally?

Raising the Federal Min Wage to $15 was taken out of the last stimulus bill as it failed to get the votes needed for passage. There are several arguments for both sides for raising it. This video does a good job breaking down this economic tennis match. Which side are you on? Raising the rate to $15 or keeping it as is? #jobsearch

I am for the raise, it need to be at least $15 long time a go. The cost of living is up. People need to able to sustain, but they can not. This is like modern day slavery... it got to stop!!!.

$5 to $20? Your analogy of the hamburger makes about as much sense as the rest of your argument.$15 is nothing per hour but it will give hope to so many hard working people. If you can’t pay $15 , maybe you shouldn’t be in business.

Ask yourself is how would you feel working 40 hours a week making less than $15 an hour and living beneath the poverty line? Now add to this the demand imposed on an individual struggling to feed cloth and shelter their loved ones without health insurance or any type of supplementary income (SNAP benefits) because they make too much to be considered poor "just economically challenged."

Yes, because with the new WH Admin. We have to fix a new tax rate for the very richest who already owe the IRS over a quarter of a trillion dollars that hasn't been collected including the Trump family.

How will this affect those people who started at $10/hour ten yrs ago, and received reasonable raises totaling about 50 % of original rate? They now make $15/hour. Their comparable rate would need to go to $22.50 per hour to be equitable. Does anyone think this will happen?

As the guy at the end pointed out, it should've been raised 15 yrs ago. At this point, it should be more like $18/hr.

It is basic economics...whether it is 2,10,15, or 20 minimum wage is just that MINIMUM. People that are currently at 17 are going to be making “less” once the minimum reaches 15. These people will not get a raise but the cost for everything will go up making it harder for them to purchase things. A lot of times huge jumps in min wage will cause recessions because businesses especially smaller ones won’t be able to maintain profits to even stay open. This is something that should have been done over a longer time period. It can and more than likely will hurt a huge amount of the population.
