
Resume (and profile) rule #1
Ok, so what's rule #1 on resumes? It is simply: Remember what they are for.
They are to make the reader think they'd like to learn more about you and/or to meet you. That's it.
A good resume gets someone to call you to learn more. Period. Full stop.
They do NOT get you hired.
You do NOT need to tell every detail and life story.
You need to write it in summary form, with results and with the goal of wanting the reader to think: "that sounds really interesting, I'd like to learn more". If they think that - you win. Now you get to interview (in person or on phone) and thats when you fill in details and win the job.
Have a look at your Jobcase profile. Did you tell your story in an interesting way? Results? Shared community volunteering? Education that makes sense? Summary that generates confidence and questions to be answered? If so - great. Hit "generate resume" and you are good to go. If not, dress it up to present your best self forward. Employers search jobcase everyday. Everyday they reach out proactively to people about jobs. Make sure your profile and resume makes good employers "want to learn more"!!!!

I think the easiest way to figure out what information should be on your resume is to ask each employer for a copy of your job description. I usually just copy and paste that description into my resume for that job. This technique has served me well for highlighting what I did in past jobs. I hope this helps those who are tying to figure out how to write their resume.

The resume should hopefully say I need to be hired, it is a dis-service to add more than what a person in HR have the time or patience to figure out the kind of person you need to fill the job. Short introduction, with objective, if the person reading is not feeling that, perhaps the job history will help to know the person has transferrable skills. There are many vast subjects that fall under the umbrella of work. People may be making a change in their career path, they may be having financial difficulty, maybe family member is having medical issue. People can certainly use quick go to guides, to up sell their transferrable skills, jobs are quite vast, you may have a server job, that can fall under 10 very different environments, some places may not say, you will be atan upscale golf course. Others that might not seem what they are are small neighborhood eats, place dosen't look great, but reputation is off the hook and usually under ground. Things are not always what they seem. In regard resumes are similar, they give a small faction of a persons back ground, and a whole lot of perfect that can too easily not be so.

Sell yourself, be thorough, short, and professionally sweet.

Not bad but remember many resumes are scanned via AI before the recruiter even calls me to Human review it. Perhaps give some AI help for the readers? Key words, etc?

You need a list of company prowords..! When asked why you used these company prowords matching occupations you have done there's only one because I was testing you to see computer screening..! What if That is true why should I work for you since you replace human jobs with robotics..! Every thing you said is true typical government type screening and that's why their positions get filled with none functional swamp creatures..! But let's just say this what makes them think I don't have the investigative intelligents to check them out before I wast my time with a resimay.! Too should play at this game life is short to short to wast your talent on a dead end job that only sees you as a number on a form..!
Back in the day you didn't need resumes or diplomas! You were hired because you were needed. Now its pure nonsense what happened to trust and hands on experience and training.
