The last Monday, I was on an interview where I was asked to solve this puzzle "Three Light Bulbs & Switches in a Room" http://puzzles.nigelcoldwell.co.uk/seven.htm
#Hint - I did not get that job.
#Confession: I never was good with all these #puzzles, #brainteasers and #crosswords. Ditto about #Chess. But somehow, between 1972 and 2016, I graduated University with Major Applied Math and now continue working as a Software Developer and Data Analyst.

Just reading this question gives me a headache, and I have a BS in Math, a secondary teaching credential, and an MBA in Information Systems. If this interviewer is so lame as to ask a question about lights and switches, why would you even want to work for them?

Hello Michael, Don't feel aquard or alienated about it, this is call "Elimination Process". They are testing your sense of thinking and your immediate response on the field. Today is Monday and I'm going to cheer you up with another brainer: On the road, there is a son and his father that got into an accident. When the father takes his son to the Emergency room, the Doctor get in the room and immediately said " I can't operate on this patient he is my son.....who was that? Look at it this way Michael its just a game, but I still want an answer. ANYONE???

Ouch! I got a headache just ready the puzzle. Have you been tested like this before on other developer or analyst jobs?

Wow, I love brainteasers! But I would definitely be intimidated if asked to solve one on the spot at a job interview!
I know companies that do that sort of thing. They're more interested in seeing your problem solving skills than coming up with the correct answer.
