I worked for Walmart off and on for 25 years this last time was for 17 years. They told me I was terminated because I made to many mistakes, first they told me I was to slow and couldn't keep up, I pointed out to them before they promoted me to management, I was going to be slow because I was handicapped (I only have one hand) but I kept my head down and did my work the man you promoted me said I was exactly what he was looking for. Thru the years he left the company and a new GTM came in. After pointing this out They changed their tune to I was making to many mistake but still they kept me dispatching 3 D'C'S (distribution centers) when a lot of people where dispatching 1 or 2 DC's there were a lot of times 2 people were dispatching 1 DC. At first they started accusing me of things I didn't do. I was on vacation and they said they tried calling me in for coverage, I was out of town and I told them I would be out of town I had family coming up to visit me and I would be out of town also I wasn't next in line to do coverage two other people were ahead of me on of the person that was ahead of me said they never called him to come in. Also I have document to back a lot of this up, and also I have tape recording of them falsely accusing me of thing I didn't do. I used their open door and when they terminated me I asked the HR manager what every became of the open door issues no one every got back with me, she told me they couldn't find any reason to allow it so they threw it out without even telling me. I went to a lawyer and he said they couldn't use the tapes in court because it was done with out their permission also he wanted $460.00 an hour which I couldn't afford. So I gave up taking it any further. This all happen in May of 2014 I suppose it's to late to do something about it now. I was 7 months away from turning 66 I thing that might have been one of the real reason they terminated me. Since then I have applied over 200 places to get a job and been refused. I sure they were behind that to. #Walmart is all about politics.

I was terminated from the Pineville Walmart in Mo. I started working there in Jan 22 but worked for Walmart for almost 3 1/2 years before COVID hit. I have a husband that I have to sometimes caretake for him because he has a few health problems. One of them being Dementia. I was terminated April 28 after working my entire shift about 15 minutes before I was supposed to clock out. March 15 I used my PPTO and left at 7:32pm minutes before my shift which is 11-8. So I was giving a half a point for it. I do admit that when I got hired my attendance started off a little bit rocky. I have probably a few more things I deal with on a daily basis than most families. One weekend in March my 17 year old tried committing suicide she lives with my mom in Rogers because she has some behavior problems that causes her to get violent and she stabbed my now 10 year old with a pen and so she went to stay with grandma so my husband and I had her come stay the weekend so I could take her to a counseling center that Monday. My daughter has never seen her dad have a dementia episode. So when I was at work that Saturday I had to leave 5.32 hours early because my husband got out of the house and wander because my daughter has couldn't handle a 6'1 210lb man to stay inside. I had to call reinforcements to help me go look for him which took about 2 hours. We live in Bella Vista AR and if your from around this area a older lady with dementia the same as my husband has ended up being missing for a week before they found her passed away right across the street from where she went missing. I applied for interment leave in case of something like that through Sedgwick. I was denied because I hadn't worked there for a year or worked 1250 hours. So I talked to my store manager and he said he would look into it and call me never did so I called the open door policy and I talked to a case worker she asked me if I was rehired back now what would change about my attendance and I told her I have my 2 older kids getting involved and someone who will come and look in on him while I am working. She said she was going to call my store manager and talk to him that was 15 days ago. I am starting to struggle with the bills because my husband is on an appeal for his social security disability.

Sam's club cafe associate here i was threatened with termination because i didn't come in on my day off and had to leave an hour and a half into one of my shifts because i got sick that day

i have worked for walmart for 3 yrs this wednesday i was fired for not communicating my schedule change to my coach . I was totally shocked I was being called in for it because since becoming Team Lead in meat & produce I have never worked my scheduled hours due to staffing issues and was told to make sure my shifts had coverage. so I would work over or come in later to cover shifts . And thats what I did on Wednesday bc we had guest coming on thursday and I had no closers for meat so instead of coming in at 4am and working to 1 pm I came in at 7 am and when I saw my coach I told him i came in later bc i was closing he said ok. but at 4:00 pm that day he pulled me in office and fired me. No warning every given about working my schedule only. His always approved my accuracies before , his told me not to worry about them he would take care of then. now his suddenly saying that he’s told me to just work my schedule. but he has never told me that.! He also said his has to be consistent bc his fired another tl for her attendance so he has to. I was totally shocked and confused by what was happening. I have never been in trouble never been coached never been wrote up. I am a very hard worker i have helped at other stores many times been called in on my off days and came in and out of the blue i am fired for something I feel is not fair nor right when alot of the team leads are told to work over or come in early or on their off days. my associates and my team are completely shocked and sad i was fired i have received many calls from other associates telling me to open door it so i requested a open door and was told via text by my coach he would let the manager know i wanted it. that was yesterday at 9am i have not received a reply since on when this open door will happen what do i do. I loved my job and worked very hard and feel i was fired for being a hard worker. help me get my job back. unfair termination Thank you

Hi There just looking for some information that may help me in this situation. I was hired on Oct 17th as a sales associate for Walmart but because of an issue I was put on as cashier for the busy season which I truly enjoyed . I missed no shifts and took extra shifts when they asked but was never 40 hrs but that being said I was okay with what I was getting. As of dec 24 th they have cut me to 1 shift a week and I’m not understanding this move on their part . I tried calling the HR number for help but that number wasn’t even pertaining to anything HR related . Upon reading some other people’s comments on here I’m now worried they are trying to force me to quit as I’m turning 65 in April . I want to continue working but I’m open to any advice I can get from you all and is this going to happen with any job I apply for because I will be turning 65 in April. Not all of us wish to retire if we are fit to keep working. Just afraid if I go after them sooner they may just terminate me as we don’t need you anymore kind of scenario. Is one shift a week even legal thought it had to be 3 which I’m fine with that . Please any advice would be appreciated.

You should have went toSocial Security for Disable worker .I would have put up some hell.I am disable person but I will not rest until somebody help me get it right.God bless you son .I don’t work now but God knows how much we can. bare.
