Don't do it!!
In today’s modern world we have to wonder...WHO doesn’t have a Facebook account? Well according to Forbes, not having a Facebook page can be detrimental to job seekers. Those without Facebook accounts, in particular, are often viewed as “suspicious” by hiring managers. On top of that a new survey revealed that 92% of recruiters use social media today to actively seek out applicants. So don't miss an opportunity!
Some job seekers feel it’s easier to simply delete their accounts rather than worry about their privacy settings. This, however, can make employers wonder if you’re hiding something. So make sure to check out [these tips] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/4769ae73-8418-5d22-a281-69b328c174a6) on what to avoid on your social media accounts so you can be #jobready

One has to be very careful when doing FB , in general...way too many people, unknowingly, put all sorts of personal information, pictures that are questionable, all sorts of posts sent your way, and when your legitimate name is searched, be ready, unless you have all the privacy options on, to go under the microscope. I use a pseudopodum, and when I have made friends, I explain who I really am and how I am extremely cautious. I have a fun FB and a business FB, and never the twain shall meet. I work for a huge corporate company, that actually had "moles" investigating our FB profiles, wanting to be "friends"...they wanted us to sign a contract about FB usage, mentioning the location of where we worked...nothing bad, or you wouldn't have a job..Is this even legal?? Sooo...simply set up a very tempid one....keep it quite professional...and use your real name..they have no business going into it to begin with.

Recruiters may look at your Facebook however it does open the company to legal vulnerability. The statement that if you do not have a Facebook account it can be detrimental is 99.9% untrue.

I haven't had a facebook account in 2 1/2 years. I don't plan on reactivating it again anytime soon. I don't understand how that would be a reason not to get hired! I choose to keep my life as private as I can. The less people know the better and the less I know about others personal business is even better!

i am not sure that recruiters look at ur fcbk or any social media account since they know that may be facke to depends on the information exposed in that social accounts .so for example in my case i gave always my pesudo of fcbk when they ask for .but they ask u to fill the gaps during subscription obligatory .and they ask u again when they want to hire you officially for more details .finally i realized that they have no need for social media accounts .because they know all r facke ( rarely people use the right information )

Thank you for the tip Ashley; however, I do have a question for you. I have had a Facebook account for a couple of years and I may have only used it 4 to 6 times and even those numbers are a stretch for the how many times I have used it. Does this also looks suspicious? please advise.

Really? Are you serious? Of all the social media out there Facebook is the deciding factor. That’s obtuse! LinkedIn is a far better professional platform to network.
I do not know where Forbes gets off reporting such none sense! If you ask me, Facebook is the bane of humanity; and, I have serious reservations about the intentions and integrity of Forbes.

I have delete some accounts on line too!

Some of Facebook has gotten kinda out of control

It's suppose to be against the law to hire someone based on their social media accounts. Unfortunately, it does happen. Use a fake or different name. Your "friends" will know who you are. Change your profile name then change it back after you're hired. ~Beth M.
We will always have hiring people who are social media freaks
