My advice to people interested in working at #Marco'sPizza as a #Cashier ...

I would advise asking the managers about taking Marco’s University. This will teach you the basics of Marco’s correctly instead of being misinformed by another coworker. Plus, you are not supposed to get your first raise until you watch the videos. Be polite, be respectful, smile while taking orders over the phone and in person, don’t cuss (or at least not in front of the customers), no sexual harassment, wash your hands regularly, and make the pizzas as beautiful as if you were going to buy them. Earn the respect of your managers: work hard, be five minutes early or on time, keep your surroundings clean, and be respectful towards customers. Doing so will help you in the long run (getting the days off that you requested, managers believing you over grumpy customers, etc.). Because this is a restaurant, this job is more like a first job or earn money on the side kind of job. There is a high turnover rate (or at least where I am) and there will be new faces popping in and out all the time. This may become stressful at times (particularly when you need to show them the ropes of the store). I know that when a customer says “Thank you” you are supposed to reply with “Thank you” as well (according to the Marco’s University). I personally took a leaf from Chick-fil-A and say “My pleasure.” It’s hard to beat that. This job is probably going to be rough (particularly on Friday nights and snowy/rainy days), so “good luck!”

By the way, if you want to be a driver don’t speed and don’t drive recklessly. I know this seems obvious, but you would be surprised at how many pizza delivery drivers do. The manager is on your back that the order needs to be exactly on time or they are not going to pay blah, blah blah. It’s just a pizza. Not the end of the world. No need for you to get a ticket, or get in a wreck, and have your insurance go up. That would not be fun!
