I'm a call center representative for many yrs and I was told early in my adult life that never to discuss $$ during an interview..so my question is how do you avoid it? #advice

It's a don't ask don't tell situation like the military said. I think people should be told upfront. A lot of people are very well educated. They have a lot of experience in their field. For these people they do not and should not take a job (when hired) not knowing the pay. It should be disclosed in your private interview so we the people can decide if it's worth it or not. Why would someone want a job paying 4 or 5 bucks less than what they received? They say yes, I want the job, then you are here the pay. Well, you accepted a job that does not make you feel worthy if its lower than expectations for pay.
