First Job Interview
I recently received a call back for a job interview at a local Publix. This would be my first job as well as my first interview. Any tips/tricks/advice would be greatly appreciated! #interview

Send a follow up email to the people who interviewed you after you meet! It's always good to thank the interviewer for taking time to meet you!

I would second what Mandy said. Employers like it when interviewees have done their 'homework'. It is helpful learn about the company's values and culture so you can speak about what you like about the company, how you would fit in, and what you would bring in return.

Understand the position you will be applying for and the company. I used to do interviews for a retailer and good interviewees, understood the job they applied for, could speak confidently about how they would do that job, and were enthusiastic.

Congrats on the interview! Any time I'm preparing for an interview I try to find someone who has gone through the interview process before and see if they can offer any insight. I also always like to take a few minutes before an interview to calm my nerves usually by taking a walk and listening to some music. I recommend showing up a little early as it's better to be early than late and it will show genuine enthusiasm for the job as well as a level of reliability. Good luck!

My favorite piece of advice for someone just starting out is to show enthusiasm and the willingness to work hard and learn when answering questions. You may get a question where you don't know the answer because you have never done the work before but that's okay. The most important part if the attitude and making sure you have a great personality for customer service.
I love Publix, and I know that every time I go in there, I see happy and friendly employees. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
Try to have some questions prepared. In almost every interview they give you time at the end to ask questions. Having a few prepared helps show that you've thought put thought into the process.
One of my go to's is asking the interviewer "What does success in this role look like?". It will also give you a clear message of what your expectations will be and if you can meet them.
