How do you balance your job with school?
I'm in high school, and I'm struggling a bit with if I should have a job during school or just during the summer. Everyone says it's hard to have a job when you're in school. #teenjobs #education #jobsearch #advice

I knew some friends who worked everyday in HS. Their grades and just their general well being suffered. They were always tired and usually weren't able to complete their work. They always had money though but for me it is better to get work either on the weekends or just a few days during the week. Everyday, I think takes a toll on you.

School is way important to prepare for the best job, a job is mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausting. Do your best in school to prepare for a good job, sometimes things just change, my advice is be prepared if you can, p.s. drugs kept me from being my best, permanently, good luck

I had a job on one weekend day cleaning a disabled woman's house. It paid well and I learned how to iron a man's shirt and clean a house. My friends laughed at me for being a "cleaning lady" because in my city, only minority women cleaned houses. I couldn't believe the prejudice. Cleaning ladies make good money!

“It depends” on your personality. Never heard that before right? It is tough enough to be concerned about type of classes/grades along with the social aspect of being a teenager exploring their grownup feelings along with the internal and “outside” pressures (friends both girls & boys) along with the family dynamics.
Be the best possible person you can be daily. Many pitfalls in your young life!

My last year of high school, in which I completed two years' worth of work, I worked weekends only. Of course, my school didn't really have athletics or social events, and I wouldn't have gone anyway. It was hard but I was very glad to be out of that school. You have to have good time management skills, which will help when you get an adult job, and in college. If you can work during college, you should be able to get out with less debt.

I worked full time for my junior and senior high school due to family issues and left home three weeks after graduation. Get a job with a four hour shift and a weekend hours. Watch and monitor sleep, keep up with your grades. The process is not as difficult as it seems. Balance your time with your further plans. College, trade school or family life that has its down size. If it is the later DO work and save the future is yours if you plan right. Best of luck life is tough but time management and looking to the future is the goal. Also consider the military for a stepping point

#1. Do not respond or direct message those $30/hr posts or work from home posts. I worked in HS at the local pharmacy. I would work a couple of hours after school and on weekends. I loved it. The sooner you can get in the work force, the better for you, as an employee and adult. Everyone is urgently hiring, so you can look around. It's what works best for you. Don't take on too much to begin with, in case it's too mich. You can always ask for more later. Best of luck to you!!

It's better to have a job during the summer and after you get out of school that's what I did how long do u have left of school

I suggest telling the job a few day's a week you're not able to work & give good reasons such as on Wednesday I have after school obligation such as a club or tutoring in a subject that is difficult for you. Do not tell them you need to have time for your friends. When I was in high-school I worked at Friendly's. Ever other weekend I went to my Dad's. I usually had every other weekend off. Occasionally I had to work on the Sundays of my weekend off but later in the day for the dinner shift like 3 to 8. Goid luck.
I think it really depends on your situation. If you have challenging classes with a lot of homework and you think working would interfere , I would suggest working only during the summer. My kids both worked during high school. They worked minimal hours so they would still have time for their homework and school events. You can do that also, just set an amount of hours you think you can handle.
