Go in there with the understanding that there is nothing that will go right 100%of the time. Like any other job, if you are not willing to sacrifice then you will sacrifice regardless. If you have an attitude that you will get by on just words alone it will get you somewhere and then eventually the for because they are all about action in the end. Go in there, learn, sacrifice your feelings and emotions about retail, about customer service, about leadership and grow. The customers will give you a bad day from tine to time, your manager or DM might give you some grief, but the opportunity to go from minimum wage to more money is fast if you stay consistent! I loved to see my assistant managers move up to store managers and to see my cashiers get promoted to leads or ASMs and it was not as hard as you think. If you have a good leader, and please understand a good leader and not a friendly manager, have their back. You can think the person laying into you is trying to put you out of a job but it might be the opposite, they might be trying to prepare you for the next level. Stay focused, educate yourself, and always ask questions about what's going on in your store and district
