What Does Memorial Day Mean To You?
Memorial Day is a day full of remembering our loved ones whom we lost who have served - friends, family, fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, brothers & sisters - and on this day, we honor each and every person who made the ultimate sacrifice.
I asked some of us here at Jobcase to share what Memorial Day means to them. Here’s what they said:
Ashley: “To me, Memorial Day is a day for admiration towards those that made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. It also means much more than just honoring those who died for their country on one particular day, but a reminder that we should appreciate those people every single day of our lives.”
Katie: “Memorial Day is for remembering those who have served for our country and my grandpa, who was a WWII vet.”
Brian: “For me, Memorial Day is about spending time with the people I love who have served and remembering those who have sacrificed.”
Jason: “Sometimes we take for granted the freedoms we enjoy here in the United States, but they have not come without a price and have been earned through the sacrifices of those in the armed forces.”
Laila: “Memorial Day is a day for quiet reflection and remembrance for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. My heart goes out to anyone who misses the companionship of someone who lost their lives in military conflict. I do not grieve the loss of anyone today, but I do know many who were hurt or changed by their experiences in combat. I have no doubt they also grieve for lost friends and I will try to support them as best I can.”
Esther: “I have family members that have sacrificed for this country, some people who have lost their lives, and seen the hurt of their families, and the adjustments that they then have to make. Having a day to memorialize that means that there is honor and respect for those people.”

Incredible pic!

NEVER FORGET !!

This is a special day set aside to honor our brave soldiers who have given themselves for our country. Not a free for all holiday

Scam!!!

It means to think about all the soldiers who fought for us to live in a free country.

It means going to work enjoying that I'm still here everyday my grand father was also in military did 21 years actually and spend time with family

To me it is a day to remember and honor those who gave their lives, limbs and sanity so we can be free. It's sad that I'm the only one in my courtyard style building who has flags out. My beloved Uncle Leo served during WWII as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force. I still have some of the things he brought home for his sister, my mother. Today I also have a red white and blue star our front that says "Land of the free, because of the brave", my Uncles' dog tag is hanging over it. I also think of the pen pal I had in Junior High, who served in Vietnam and wonder if he survived. I live across the street from a cemetery, which had the traveling replica of the Vietnam Memorial there one year. I took a rose to leave there for all those who have served and given their all.

My father fought in WWII. He served in the Pacific, and Italy. He was burnt and I remember the scars that were left on his arm and back. The men that fought in WWII came back with wounds that you couldn’t see. Ie: the emotional scars and they had never heard of PTSD. It was sad to see my father erupt in a fit over what seemed like nothing. I loved and admired my Dad. I was born in 1949, four or five years after the war ended. My brother was born in 1945 and my sister was born in 1946. I escaped the abuse but the harsh words aimed at my brother still haunts me today. So Memorial Day means a day of reflection for all the veterans from all the wars, declared or undeclared. Too many young men lost their lives and limbs in battle to protect all of us here at home. G-d bless them and G-d bless America.

It may be hard, but continue to be strong and not give in to the temptation.
TO ALL WHO SERVE !!
