FEEDBACK
After 100's of "no thank you" emails I got sick of it, so in the last few weeks I've been asking why I was overlooked--today I got some feedback! I have 8 1/2 years of college and 9 years in my industry and I'm still at a loss of what to put on my resume. This is a catch-22, If I put all of it, it's too long and pretentious. If I don't put enough, then I get overlooked. Where is the happy medium....well today I was told it's not enough "employee-centric" and was given some good points. I was in process of rewriting it anyway so, I thanked her (because I truly appreciated it) and added things to my new resume and resent it to her. It's worth a shot.....I have to start somewhere!! I refuse to give up!

Same issue here its like the jobs on here are a scam for yur phn

It may also be beneficial to do some general searches for things like "resume format", because there is definitely not a "one size fits all". And you might want to find the people that are getting the jobs that you're not, and see if they would be open to providing a copy of their resume.

@GraceCuneo, your resume is "too long and pretentious." that it is, but even with my quality control(i.e., a system of maintaining standards in manufactured products by testing a sample of the output against the specification. in other word, I look for product characteristics and relate the results to the requirements to confirm compliance.) experience, which is not that much different from resumes (if you can compare it to a manufactured product, which is a different commodity) I can't find any reason why you should be overlooked. Your specification/qualification Wow!!!!!!! I'm wondering what area's are you looking in.

Wow - that is great feedback to get. I think everyone who searches for a job comes across this problem of not getting any feedback on why they weren't hired.
I'm so happy to hear about you getting such good criticism and info from them.
Your attitude on the job search is perfect, and I know with these changes you are going to find something! Good luck Grace Cuneo - and thanks for sharing this positivity with the community. Let us know what happens when you send the new and improved resume out and hear back!
Hi Grace, I hope you are tailoring each resume and cover letter to each job you apply for. Reviewing keywords in the job description, and putting as many matching keywords as you can in your resume and cover, that correlate to your previous job/education/volunteer experience. It's a hassle, I know, but it's very effective.
