I have to comment about something. When someone comments about a posting I've written, whatever the case may be, I usually go to their profile to find out a little more about them. Well, I've noticed that very few people (that I've come across) seem to have an actual profile or resume on file here with Jobcase. I thought this was pretty odd since most people are here because they're looking for work. This is the perfect place to include a profile if you are looking for a job. I'm going to just say it straight. If I was an employer looking to hire and posted a job opening here that people were responding to, etc. I would most likely pass them over if there was nothing on their profile page. I just find this strange. I'm not looking for a job yet I have a rather comprehensive (yeah, it needs some editing now) profile. Here's the perfect opportunity for candidates to show what they've got! I do write profiles and bios but you can and should do it yourself here, because it's FREE! I guess I wouldn't take someone seriously if he or she applied for a job but didn't take the time to include a profile here on Jobcase....Am I being a brat? #jobsearch #hired #advice

Perhaps their intent is not focused on job search, so you may not find job-related information or a profile on their Jobcase account.

Maybe their purpose is not job search so you can't find job search related information or profile on their Jobcase. slither io

Thank you for sharing @Genise Caruso! I am always impressed by Jobcasers that have beautifully filled out profiles, and I think it shows real initiative and preparation for the job itself. A lot of folks on here are seriously looking for jobs - but doing so with blank profiles, empty resumes, or no cover letters. I don't know how you could possibly stand out without having some background on your experience to share with employers! I hope more folks follow your lead so that this App can match real candidates with better jobs! 🎉✨💙

You’re not a brat Genise, just a well prepared career professional with a big heart who’s unselfish and willing to offer job search tips and career advice that’s worked for you in the past.

One important thing I feel that’s worth mentioning is that not all of our members in this community are job seekers. A large percentage of members who engage within this platform are seasoned career professionals, like yourself, who just want to help people find good jobs.

Many have shared their concerns about not being able to connect with serious job seekers and eventually fall off as a result.

Just this week a Senior Recruiter for a reputable US company asked me to forward him candidates for hire.

Here we are, approaching the end of the week, and I have not been able to connect him with one good profile.

Unfortunate and very concerning for sure but certainly an issue we are passionate and dedicated to resolving.

This post most certainly will support our goal towards cultivating and inspiring more prepared job seekers. Thank you

As a Jobcase employee, if I was asked to select a handful of meaningful and helpful member post added this year, this post would be in my top 3 most useful and memorable for 2022!

This is the biggest pain-point for Jobcase Community staff members, like me and hand-full of other Specialists, who are devoted and passionate about helping people find good jobs.

This, however, is not an exclusive issue for Jobcase staff members moderating this feed. National employers and hiring managers we collaborate with have also stressed the need for more qualified applicants, which is consistent with your comment…

“If I was an employer looking to hire and posted a job opening here that people were responding to, etc. I would most likely pass them over if there was nothing on their profile page.”

Work experience, skills, personal qualities/traits, education background, workplace accomplishments are essential items job seekers MUST showcase up-front in order to inspire hiring recruit and hire them.

The employment environment today is highly competitive. Employers are looking for well prepared quality candidates for all job levels (entry and above). Digital branding and online professional career presence is vital!

Our current dilemma… How can we educate, inspire, and encourage members to become more prepared job seekers?

Can’t tell you how much I appreciate this post @Genise Caruso . Thanks so much for taking the time to articulate and share such an important message ;-)

I think you are spot on. They are not using Job Case for what it is for. There is a employment opportunity on here posted by a community specialist with over 850 comments, and 800 of them say I am interested, and they don't even know how to apply by clicking the bright blue link plus they have no resume!

I understand what you're saying but I have found that the most interesting, useful thing about jobcase is the question and comment section. My info is on other sites

I absolutely agree Genise! Precious few people have completed their profile and work history, and a lot of people just like to complain and have a pity party!
