I worked for 11 years in a retail environment. 7 of those years I was the manager. After those 11 years I was fired back in June of 2021. The company I worked for had a set of core values that we were supposed to follow, but upper management was "exempt or created a double standards" when it came to these values. So as a consequence my morale/attitude sank due to my lack of support. Now that I have been out for 7 months, I am trying to find something new that fits my needs and passions. However I am finding it considerably hard to find any place that will work with my salary range or work life balance. How does one find a career with these things without compromising either?

Don't look back @deleted user 7 years of management experience is so valuable, and needed right now. Have you considered any jobs outside of retail? Do you have any other types of industries you are interested in? It's awesome that you want to find new opportunities.

I feel you pain. I’m in retail management, made my budget and goals just to have them raised at the last minute so it can’t bonus. Although 3 of my 7 salespeople made bonus.
What kind of company do you think would meet your values? I'm curious, we'd like to help :)
