Need Intel

Had my CDL for a couple years now, worked for 2 awesome companies but the needs of my family supercede my career. So I got a local job driving a garbage truck. Bout a month or so passed and an old buddy slipped me a pot brownie and of course I freaked out and tried to clean it out my system to no avail. Two weeks go by and DOT drug test pops up and of course I'm hot and they fire me. Is there anyway I can get back in a truck at all. Really looking for the right Intel here.

In my experience, dispatching at a waste disposal company, it was mandatory to dismiss anyone (including non=driving positions) for any drug use. Unfortunately that brownie sticks around for about 30 days and there is no test (yet) that will determine frequency of the use or last date of use. My recommendation is to check yourself into an outpatient rehab and bring your ppwk to the route or operational supervisor and let him know your situation and intention to get your job back. The company I worked for had a policy that they would consider a rehire after mandatory dismissal only after a years passed. I think that maybe across the board per DOT regulations. The route/operational supervisor can inform you of what to do next. Sorry for what your going through. Best of luck!
