Poll: Would You Try Trucking as a Job?
I'm seeing so many jobs for truck drivers. Getting started seems pretty easy - get a CDL license and complete a month-long training course. Driving an 18-wheeler seems intimidating though. Would you ever consider taking a completely new job in trucking if you needed the money? Yes or No in the comments below

I absolutely would. They make really good money and it might be intimidating at first but I’m sure the course will help you get used to things

I've been driving since 1997. This not an easy job nor as high paying as you believe. If you can find local work you will do ok if you can handle stress. Otr is what I do. I love it. It's not for many. Otr drivers are paid by the mile not the hour. We normally work 60 to 70 hours a week with no overtime. There are.more rules and regulations imposed on us than anyone else but airline pilots. We are looked at as a source of income by local and state governments. I have been away from home as long as 6 months at a time. This is the biggest lie you will hear in trucking. They say they will bring you home every so many days or weeks but there' are hidden catches. Read the fine print! You do make good money but it's expensive out here. That fat paycheck is gonna take several hits before it pays the 1st bill. Read the fine print. If I havent scared you off you can see the country and meet people who will amaze you. Every day is new and different. I look forward to what I will see tomorrow. If you have a spouse and children stay local. Dont believe anyone who tells you regional will get you home every weekend or whatever. If the loads aren't going your way neither are you. I hope this will help you decide if trucking is for you. Good luck
