Has this happened to you? They stole my stuff!

I had my coat stolen at work. It was taken from the break room - so I know it didn't wander off with customers. This was a while back and it was at a big store where I wasn't close with any of my #coworkers. I reported it to my manager, but the coat was never returned - so I don't think it was a mistake. Do you think it's normal to have your stuff taken when you work at a big place and your coworkers are strangers?

Yes this has happened to me, too and it a similar situation with lots of people. We had lockers, but you had to bring in your own lock and only half of us really did that. I had just pulled out cash and lost $160 bucks. The buggers had the nerve to go into my secret pocket in my bag! It put me in a bad spot that weekend, but I learned lesson. Don't be lazy and buy a lock.

Absolutely!! Happens all the time. Does the company provide lockers? If not wear a shitty coat to work, and get a Fanny pack for your personal belongings

Cameras are your friend in workplace theft, we, as employers want to know how is a thief. HR should take care of this, Dollar store sells locks too, but I would do a set-up, same scenerio, and put their asses in jail

I to had this happen except it isn't a big place, we all work closely together unless your on opposite shift (morning vs. Evening) I left my very expensive raincoat and it was stolen from break room. I told the manager but cameras didn't catch the thief so we know it was an employee because they knew how to dodge cameras. The manager did nothing about it! I'm still angry! That coat cost close to $200! I still don't know what to do about it!

I've had a coat, wallet, purse.and new winter gloves stolen from a previous job. I was told by management they weren't responsible for lost or stolen items!
