TN unemployment
I filed for unemployment in TN on 4/30 and got denied on 8/11. I appealed the same day and have yet to get a date for appeal. I’ve had respiratory problems my entire life and was hospitalized with double pneumonia ( not a smoker) earlier this year. I had a Drs appt and told my employer weeks ahead of time. They discharged me stating I had broke company policy for attendance! They had been discussing how they were losing money and the employees could take a unpaid leave of absence but if applied for unemployment they would consider it as a resignation. I unjustly lost my job and the state of TN is failing me as well. Ive emailed my representative and my mayor. I’ve called and spoke with the unemployment office 20+ times and sent numerous emails with no help. #unemployment #advice #appeals
has anything changed for you yet?
It’s crazy cause one minute it’s pending but I got 10) transactions that post me .25 each transaction who does that. I’ve spoke with someone but still nothing.
Have you tried the Chat Room at the Tennessee Department of Labor website? What they did to you is grossly unfair.

I applied on June 14. Been requesting checks every 2 weeks as required. Yesterday I logged in to check the status and in the summary said my claim has NOT been submitted and I must submit by Friday. I have no idea what to do. I can see where I have requested checks since June with $0 payment but I don't know how to submit or what to do. No one answers the phones. I live in Ky and it's a travesty, the piss poor lack of assistance. Regarding your post about termination, idk ur age but let all this be a great learning experience that you can show up, be productive and they don't give a damn
I totally feel for all of you. Kansas so far has been doing great for my situation. I just found out that a friend of mine finally got his UI backpay last week & it was a big payout. Keep after your representative for help and keep all records of communications with whoever you contact example: Email's & such. I'll keep all of you in my prayers & hope & 2nd stimulus package someday gets approved in Washington.
As a recommendation I would see an EEOC attorney or an unemployment attorney - it appears they have illegally dismissed you - you gave notice and it was for a medical issue...do you have anything in writing you may have given to them, perhaps a "Time Offi" Request form, or note to your supervisor, etc. Who did you notifiy and how? Get as much written back-up as you can and then - GO GET 'EM! All I can say is - today's working world is crazy! Good luck!
You should get approved for that. I am in pa so I don’t know what your system is like but Pua is pretty quick as long as their is no issues but I would advise to send them your drivers Lincense picture and another form of approved ID because if not they may hold up your claim. Also keep trying to call and contact them through live chat. It took me a while but I finally got through.
Did you try filing for PUA?
They finally set me date for Appeal. It’s Nov 3rd. Early in the morning. It’s dragged on so long and I’ve told the story so many times, I feel like I’ve forgotten half of it. And I just feel so defeated after all this time and going through all my savings, retirement, maxing out every credit card I have, taking small loans just for essentials.
