Tip for an interview:

Men: Trim your hair and remove your facial hair. Facial hair of any kind. Don't wear your hair looking as if you just came out of a storm. You may have come in from the rain or snow or wind, but you should have time to stop in a rest room and comb your hair or do other things to look presentable. Wear a white shirt with open collar if you notice that the predominant dress is this manner. If you have not viewed a lobby, prior to your first visit, wear a suit and tie, with appropriate shoes. NO SANDALS OR OUT RIGHT BAD LOOKING TENNIS SHOES. Try to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to relax and get comfortable with your surroundings. Also, you can assure yourself that you will find the right office. Review a company annual report, if it is out for everyone. If you are interviewing for private company, pull out Fortune or Business Week, or other industry type magazine.

WOMEN: Get a hair cut. You don't know the business's dress code, which may have something against long hair. Wear a comfortable blouse and camisole, with a skirt. Or wear a dress. Wear comfortable shoes or heels. Do not wear sandals or open toes shoes. DO NOT WEAR A TANK TOP, HALTER TOP OR SIMILAR TYPE BLOUSE.

Keep you jewelry to a minimum. A watch and wedding ring for men; women can wear their wedding ring and a simple bracelet. A simple watch is okay also. Sensible shoes, including heels. Don't wear heels, if you have not worn them before. No open toes shoes or sandals; sandals are not a working style of shoe, anywhere. No open toed shoes for safety reasons. Other appearal that may be acceptable for women include any sweater or light cover up, like a blazer. Men can wear a blazer if they choose not to wear a suit. Three piece suits are up to the individual, but are acceptable. Business shoes are called for, but the choice is up to the individual and the time of year.
