Employee benefits at FedEx Ground

Those working at FedEx are offered a wonderful benefits package to support themselves and their family. It includes:

Health Insurance, Medical Dental & Vision

Package handler employees are eligible after 1,000 hours worked. Once package handlers become eligible for health care benefits, they can select medical, dental and vision benefits for themselves and eligible dependents.

Starting 1/1/2019, Full-time package handlers are eligible after 90-day waiting period.

  • Prescription Drug

  • Employee Assistance Program (E.A.P.) / People Help: Provides services for short-term counseling, and Mental Health/Substance Abuse benefits

Package handler employees earn 1 hour of PTO for every 20 hours worked and are permitted to use PTO after 90 days of continuous service. Program provides a “bank” of paid time for vacation, sick and personal use. Earned and unused PTO will be paid out at the end of the fiscal year.

  • Part-time Package Handlers: Eligible to earn up to 40 hours of PTO per fiscal year

  • Full-time Package Handlers: Eligible to earn up to 80 hours of PTO per fiscal year

All package handler employees with one year of service are eligible to receive holiday pay. Once eligible, package handlers will enjoy up to 6 paid holidays a year: Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day.

  • Part-time Package Handlers: Eligible for 3.5 hours of holiday pay

  • Full-time Package Handlers: Eligible for 7.0 hours of holiday pay

Seasonal package handler employees are not eligible for holiday pay.

Additional Benefits & Discounts

  • Discounts: Available through LifeCare, cell phone plans (20% off), cars, vacations, attractions, restaurants, FedEx shipping and more

  • Wage Payment: Progressive Wage Schedule for package handler employees and paid every week via payment options of Direct Deposit, Pay Card, FedEx Credit Association

  • Stock Purchase Plan: Must be 21 years of age or older and have 3 consecutive months of employment

  • MetLife: Critical illness, auto and home insurance, legal services

  • Tuition Reimbursement:

    • Package handler employees* are eligible for the program after sixty (60) calendar days following their hire date

    • Reimbursement Limit: $1,500.00 per calendar year (for eligible expenses)

Seasonal package handler employees are not eligible for the tuition reimbursement program. However, seasonal package handler service time will be counted if employment continues.
