I impressed my boss when I...

Took in a 835 case shipment by myself, made a bin list for stock that was needed for the shelves, pulled and put away the list and cut up and disposed of all the boxes and had overflow done and everything set up for the next shift.

They really care about their driver's

They are a family oriented business. And truly understand the value of families. That is why they get you home every week. I have never worked for a company that cares as much about their employees as this company does. And they got me great miles. The pay was great.

my proudest moment at my Job

it is when i first meet this other client who was extremely angry and i had to stand there and let him express his feelings and complaints after wards i spoke to him politely and said Good day may you please start over what you were saying because due to the speed you were talking i hardly heard what you were saying. he become so down and apologized and he spoke in a more polite way to me and then after i was able to help him at the end of the day. he was so happy and said to me you have such a good patience to people and started laughing. and that for a day was one happy client.

I made the biggest impact at my job by...

I made the biggest impact by treating every customer's home, as id it was mine. If i wouldn't fix something at my house in such a manor, i wouldn't short cut a fix at a customer's house. I take pride in my work.

Supervisor From Hell

I just started a new job and there is so much politics, I don't even know how to begin. I honestly think that my shift supervisor has something against women. He tries to intimidate all the females at work for the males get away with pretty much everything. This supervisor is: rude, unprofessional, weird to the extreme!!! Listening comes very hard for him, he's also hard of hearing and I believe a little bipolar. He just doesn't know it. When he's asking you a question he makes these weird facial expressions. Unnecessary!!! He's not about teamwork. He would watch you fail before telling you, you're going the wrong way. What kind of madness is that!!! This supervisor, talks down to people. He's always inside the office watching my every move. I have to be at work for 12 hours going through this mess. Last night I left work early all because of him. He became very pressuring. My head started hurting. Again, supervisor from hell!!! I need to find a new job. It's funny; cause I actually like my job!!!

Is there a fear of the Black male in the workplace?

I'm wondering if it is just me or is there a dwindling Black male presence in corporate America. I notice in commercials if the Black man is not the boss, he doesn't exist. I use commercials to spot societal trends. Usually that's the direction the country is headed socially. When waking down a busy downtown street, I rarely see other Black males working white collar positions. When I do, we nod at each other like two endangered species passing... "I thought the Polar Bear was extinct." said the passing Bengal Tiger. "Almost." said the nervous Polar Bear.
