Education should not be considered more valid than Experience

When are companies going to realize that just because you have a degree does not automatically mean success in the workplace? There are mid level managers where I currently work that do not even bother to show up a lot of the time and are most likely paid quite well. How much money are companies losing over this philosophy that education automatically equals results. Those of you in the workplace for very long have likely had similar observations. I am not saying that everyone with a higher education does not product results or has attendance issues. But again in my many years in the workplace I have seen example after example that it does not always equal the best outcome.

Sexual Harrassment at work...

Hi everyone, I want talk about a situation that happened to me at work. I work as a banquet server at hotel. I was sexual harrassed by two male cooks. They said a sexual comment towards me which obviously made me feel uncomfortable. They cook is old man been there for 22 years. I went to GM who took situation serious along with the manager. He did not get fired or written up. I believe those situations are zero tolerence, but did not happen Since then I been uncomfortable but hiding it so I can continue to work. Today the old man said something agian behind my back when I left the kitchen after a conversation. I couldnt hear what he said, but It was sexual. What are your thoughts I like to know? I want to quit. Thanks.

Staples is the worst place in the world to work

Staples is the worst place in the world work at they treat all their employees like shit they expect you to do the work of 7 people. I was told by several people when I was going there to look for a job not to that they have a revolving door now I know why if you treat your employees like shit they don't want to work there was people they would not even trained and then walk them out the door because they didn't know what they were doing

Motives.

Everybody has one or several. I recently made progress in a toxic work environment where a new hire was clearly accepting a job only to be a thorn. To all thorns well...go figure.

What motivated me to come to work everyday was

I enjoyed the people I worked with, I was the only female for 3 years till they hired another women who didn't mind hard work and working as a team. But most importantly I enjoyed the type of work I did, I cut cores for big place that makes paper and they used our cores to roll the paper up on.
