Volunteering can help land YOU a job!

Did you know that volunteering allows you to network and potentially gets your foot in the door with a future employer? It's true!

Consider volunteering for a nonprofit organization or doing pro-bono work in a job that utilizes your skills! It will help build your resume with current experience, and also fill in the gaps of time while you are out of work.

One study revealed that 42% of hiring managers say they viewed volunteer experiences as equivalent to formal work experience.

Plus you never know, you might just meet someone while volunteering who will lead you to a job opening elsewhere. Here are some volunteer opportunities in the [Cincinnati area] (http://www.uwgc.org/volunteer/ways-to-volunteer).

To search for additional volunteer position near you use the 4 easy steps below:

1.Click on “Jobs & Companies” at the top of the page 2.Enter the word volunteer into the search field that says Job title and then enter your location 3.Click on the blue hour glass symbol to search 4.Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.

Happy volunteering! : )

You should volunteer because

Its a good church to go to great pastor and we go the extra mile as a youth group to do more for our community and we always had a great time doing it. Because in the end it was well worth all our troubles we had and it helped us delevop as a person to do the better thing in life.

Something I learned at #ShrinersHospital ...

The most important thing I learned from volunteering at the Shriners hospital was how to keep a positive attitude. Whether it's life or other people bringing you down, it's how you handle what's being thrown at you that counts. Having a good attitude in the work force will always come to a positive outcome.

How I started volunteering at #BrieantYouthAlliance

I learned about it because the organization banks at my bank. BYA provides leadership training and career counseling to kids and also works with incarcerated youth. They needed a new treasurer. It was a natural fit.

That is simple my store owner is very dedicated to charity!

It all started one day when a man came in begging for a haircut a homeless man. He said that he had a job interview and that he did not have money for a haircut I was working on a Saturday. I told him to come back at the end of the day and I would cut his hair for free it made me feel very rewarded and got in telling how he lived and how he came to be homeless. It was very rewarding and I would do it anytime because I love it since then we have done many homeless people's haircuts and the Great Clips Corporation as a whole should get on board with it because there are many many many homeless people in downtown where I work and everywhere else. And they deserve the opportunity to get a job just like we do.!
