Interview
I applied for a job on Thursday and got a call today for interview next week. Thanks Jobcase.

sometimes you get lucky
Looking for jobs is not an easy thing to do. Especially at my age 58 is very tough to do. I work part-time at a convenience store. And I just got a call to do part-time Auto Body today. So what you all have to do is just keep plugging along. It might take a month it might take two months it might take a year to find something that's good. So what I did was I took a job for $9.75 an hour. While I was in waiting and now what I'll do is I'll work both jobs. Don't get depressed do not think you're going to get a job in a couple of days. And these crazy jobs that are available on these online sites that offer you jobs. Are not as honest as you think they are. Apply for everything and anything until you find what you're looking for. Good luck to all of you!

I accepted a new position!!!
Hi guys! Turns out my firing a month ago was the best thing that could've happened to me! Looks like consulting is big now and it's very lucrative! I'm going to be making over double what I was making with less stress!

FANTASTIC Week!
Hello gang! This week was my best week so far in 2019. I have remained steadfast, consistently self determined and cheerfully optimistic in pursuit of my employment expectations. I let nothing stop or sidetract me from my aim. Like a sharp shooter I stayed focused. I battle the waether...cold...ice...snow and freezing rain. I spent endless hours up and down Interstates and highways in Missouri. Experienced brief spells of homelessness. Sleeping in my car. My diet consisted of peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches with leamon water, raw asparagus and spinach. At times all I could afford was cup of soups or top ramen noodles. All this went on for a period of about two and a half months. I was only able to land one job in St Louis through Patriots Temp service. Which was a brief ten days. I witnessed so many people lost and homeless, unemployed and being corralled like catte through the state agencies. I witnessed the mentally ill drifting helpless in the streets. Even my own mother at age 70 walked off her job because the employer attempted to undermine my moms integrity. But all this is now in the past. All this is meaningful to my understandig of lfe in many areas that before I had no experience with. But I discovered solutions that worked for me and not against me. And in some cases I was even able to help a few people with some solution's that benifited them. I Ask for nothing in return other than to remember my name: Paris Taylor and I continued my path. Im now full time employed with a great company who produces the greatest batteries in the world: NorthStar Batteries. Here in SPRINGFIELD MO. I am proud to represent them. If anyone is looking for a great company to grow with Northstar is a great company to prospect. They are expanding and need more production and assemblely employees. The pay is weekly, 401k and other benifits. See the thing about me is: " I learned along time ago how to survive...but now I know how to thrive" "The mind IS the most greast tool we have but, its value is based on the use we make of it" Focus..refect and think deep.

Overjoyed and Elated
I've been having a rough time the last few months knowing that my contract end date was rapidly approaching at my current job. I have been putting in applications like crazy on several different sites, attending career fairs, reaching out to colleagues, and so on. Even doing all this seemed like a monumental waste of time and effort. But I'm just glad to say/share that I got an offer letter for a data scientist position this week, and I accepted the position. I'm only 23 so I'm hoping things just keep going up from here.
Moral of the story is just keep trying, and trying and trying! Good luck to everyone else out on the job search, and to everyone who left helpful advice to me prior to this.

I found a job!!!
Patience is a virtue of which we humans lack. It took nearly two months but it finally happened!!

Got hired!
Got hired at enterprise

Landing the job
I have for a long time worked with staffing services and Temp agencies. These are great resources to get back into the work field and allows you to develop more job skills as well as being flexible. I recently have been going through a career change. I was wanting something less labor intensive than loading freight trucks and more challenging. So I started putting my resume out there. At first it was like wow no one is biting. So I sat down looking over my resume and started asking myself exactly what I wanted to do. Do I want to go into the medical field, do more of the warehouse that I have been doing for the last 37 years? So I started checking out the job sights and looking at the comments and the advice people were exchanging. In all the commentary it always came back to the same bottomline. Streamline your resume for the position you are seeking. So with that in mind I went to my generic resume and started doing just that. For each job I was applying for I focused on the key words of the job . The job title and the specific skills. Once I took this approach I started sending out resumes to employers, just a few at first to see how it went. In the first week I got more than 40 employers to actually see my resume and 6 job interviews. I am happy to say I did finally land a job I want to do as a TV technician for a major Television service provider. So yes my friends it is about how you market yourself and how far are you willing to go to get the job. In this case I am willing to travel 90 minutes each way to work and if need be I am willing to relocate. But what sold them to take a look at me in the first place was my resume.

Long road
So recently I was let go and on very morally questionable grounds and right before Christmas literally 3 days before I moved into my new place all seemed great until I was asked to come to the office and that's when I got delivered the news. It was heart breaking and terrifying because all I could think was now what. I had just enough money to post for 2 months rent and that was it but I got let go at the worse part of the year. In my field Construction December/Janurary/Feburary are the hardest months so no one was looking to hire not till Spring (when most home buyers start looking). I was screwed. I had to file for unemployment the works. First thing first update my resume did that within hours and thought ok maybe with my wording and my experience I can pick something up easily... wrong. I put out over 500 applications for work everyday from 8 am till 5 and on weekends. I got quite a few phone interviews but that was it. I was beginning to lose hope I was thinking about having to declare bankruptcy and move in with friends. 60 full days of sending resumes over and over to new companies, tweaking my resume each time to tailor to what the company in question was needing (never lieing because that is a sticky web not easy to get out of). Finally my break came through I had an in person interview come through not what I would have wanted, but it was something. I spent the next 2 days studying literally everything about the company as much information as I could. The day of the interview I showed up 10 minutes early and started my interview. Started out rocky because my age I am mid 20's so ageism is definitely a thing not just to older folks but younger as well. If it was up to them the interview would have been over in 15 minutes, but I showed my knowledge of their company, their product, their procedure and I can't stress this enough. If they ask you "do you have any questions" you need to have at least 3 questions qued up. My typical questions are "where do you want to see this company in 5 years/how do you think it got to the point where it is today" "what would your ideal candidate look like" "how do you think your company can get better". After I grilled the company in question their attitude turned 180° they showed interest in me because you show that you are interested. Dont feel like this company holds all the cards because remember they are looking for someone they need help. A day goes by and they extend an offer to me this is now Tuesday expecting me to start on Monday. I look at it and something tells me not to respond immediately. Wednesday comes and just before I sent my acceptance I get an email from a company that says they want an immediate interview. I respond back and set an interview that afternoon. Next day (Thursday) I am doing a second interview. Friday 10AM rolls around the hiring manager calls me tells me if my background check checks out she will extend an offer. This company pays more and have better benefits. Friday at 3 PM I get a phone call from another company that received my resume is interested in me. Now please dont think I am bragging I am simply stating that you cant lose hope when things dont go your way quickly. Go with your gut feeling dont be afraid to keep submitting your resume because like me you might get yourself in a position where you have the upper hand. You can negotiate and have a bidding war. Had I stuck with the first company I would have shot myself in the foot because I would not have made enough money to survive.

From Bad to Good
Hi All
This year has been pretty bad to start with. From losing my job on the same day my wife went into labor. Pretty Bad. But I wasn’t gonna give up. Made a few call to a few friends. And got a hook on a job. Maybe for some of you. This might help you get a job. Knowing someone who works there and use them as reference. It works for me. Maybe it’ll help some of you. Can’t wait to start work Monday. Pretty Good as of now :)
