I'm 57 years old getting back into the restaurant business boy do I feel like I've been punched in the gut!Discrimination is so real these younger people are so horrible made me feel like I'm stupid .The computers are not my best thing but I can keep up as far as taking care of customers and then some .How many of you are feeling my pain?

For a school fundraiser, we were allowed to volunteer as a waiter/waitress at a dine in deli. I arrived 30 minutes before my shift began and I was the top waitress. I stayed for the next shift because no one showed up, and I was the first to bust tables, do refills, and move plates after they were finished.

Well I worked at the Albany Ga location and every since they got management recently it became frustrating and so unorganized and the team work there wasn't very good. There was a handful that would be a team player. I made good money there but it got to where I dreaded going to work. I want to enjoy going to work and not dread it. Money was great but it's not always the you need tone happy

Well this was a big lesson but I think whenever it got hectic I tended to be real to myself and that come off as a vibe. Always be kind and humble. They might be having a bad day too

Just don't! They fire on a dime. The gm kept asking me my age. After giving a few wrong ages, I finally told him my real age and got fired the next week. I did nothing wrong. I asked for proof on what I did wrong and he couldn't come up with anything! Again I did nothing wrong except try to help the owner succeed. Very ungrateful

The biggest mistake I made was helping out management when they were short handed with managers. I took a $10 an hour pay cut in doing so. I got behind in bills. I thought it would help with my resume. But it didn't. Management didn't care and looked for reasons to get rid of me anyway and even made stuff up about why I left. So don't bend over backwards trying to help or think your doing them a favor because they will use and abuse you and throw you out to the dogs and not think twice about it.

I have been on about 30 interviews and haven’t got a call back on nothing except 1 and I was told that I didn’t fit the type of person they wanted to hire even tho I have over 14 years experience as a server cook and cashier. I’m trying not to lose faith and hope but it’s hard especially with bills and kids so frustrating
