Help

I have an associates degree, how do I find a job that's not fast food? No offence I've done my fair share of fast food. I'm just getting older, arthritic and need an easier job. I'd like an office job. I worked in an accounting office for ten years. Had kids, took part time jobs so I could be home when they got out of school. Now I'd like to get back into a full time job.

Quit or not

Seriously want to quit my long time job tomorrow with no plan in place. Feel like always walking on egg shells with my boss and get almost physically sick before going in there. Yes I have made mistakes there bit trying to talk to him always results in him either yelling at me or telling me he doesn't trust me. Ok. So why try and talk to him? I have started job search and applications so I am not just wallowing in my emotions. I am willing to look at any job to just pay my bills right now. I am 55 and know that is a hard age to reinvent yourself. Have been seeing counselor about low self esteem and working on that but seems my job has a lot to do with it. Thoughts?

Almost 61

Hi , I am almost 61. I worked as a RN in hospitals for 35 years. I am now on disability but need to find a part time job because I'm not getting enough money to stay in my house even though it is very inexpensive only costing me $66,000. to buy. I dont want to work in any medical field anymore. I am able to be up on my feet for only about 4 hours at a time . Can someone suggest a job for some one like me?

Wonders never cease

I worked at a hospital in northern Virginia. My job was to be in the front lobby and greet patients and visitors when they entered the hospital and find out their destination. After I found out their destination I would escort or wheel their wheelchair to their destination. I had to stand for 40 hours a week. I developed swollen legs and feet from the standing and then the pinched nerve in my lower back started hurting. At one point I almost collapsed while pushing a wheelchair because my leg was so painful. I was told I could sit on my 15 minute morning break or on my half hour lunchtime. One day I was in such pain I sat down in the lobby and it was not break time. I was fired because of that. I will be 70 in January. I was told when I was fired that one of the bosses "expects everyone to be healthy". Is this not a naïve attitude when you are working with people? Especially when your employees are almost 70. Hotel Manager

How do I re- enter the Hotel Industry? I went to Michigan State University and I earned a Certificate for Hospitality Leadership, to get back into the hotel industry at 62 years old ?. I was a Night Auditor, a Front Desk Clerk before I became an Assistant Manager. I do not want to retire yet because I am a widow and I have a lot of life and spunk in me and I'm very active. I have experience as a Assistant General Manager at a hotel that closed up. Can anyone give me advice on how to get back into the hotel industry, I have sent in resumes and I went to interviews, and never got a call back for employment.

Resume question/assistance

I have just turned 65 and walk with a cane. I lost my job Dec 2017 -- I've worked non-stop since 1978. Have had about 15-20 interviews. Still no job offers even though I am qualified for the positions applied to. This week had an interview and was asked why such a long time without work. My reason of assisting with a family member who had been ill sounded lame even to me. Any suggestions?? And do you enter this information on your resume or just wait for them to ask you in person? Thanks for your feedback.

Changed Jobs too many times

I left my job at BJS in March of this year because they were not flexible with my hours. I consistently worked 2 -10:30 pm which was taking a,roll on me physically.. So I gave my 2 weeks notice. Since then I have had several positions that did not work out for me. I am currently at Kohls and so far it is ok. I am 64 years old and have no savings to speak of. I thought at this age I would be doing much better.
