Scammed!!!

If you will check my emails, you will find a group of young people who got into my site on Jobcase..they scammed me about a job onsite. Now, they sent back the jobs with their names, jobs, dates they sent them to me.Obviously, you must not check your security online. I am not using your site any more, due to the lack of security...This was a very cruel thing to do to sincere people! My security is Virtual Shield... Lorna Hurder

Recruiters

How would you know if the recruiter is actually working with the said client, for pay and duration? I sometimes think maybe they are phishing collecting your info... what are your rights for making sure we are safe??? Any ideas or suggestions?

phone interviews.

Lately I have posted many resumes online. I tend to post 50 to 150 daily and for jobs mainly within the warehouse field. But I also explore jobs either in upper management or in totally different fields. So today I was hanging about. It was a day off for me. An I go an email. It was about a possible job working from home. The gentleman asked if I had ever had an online interview. I quickly responded yes, many times. So he asked if we could do it over skype or google handouts and gave me an Email contact to add to my contact list. So being a cautious person I added it to a private contact list and started a private conversation with this person. We had a few technical issues at first and had to restart our conversation a few times. This is not unusual in the area I live in. So we started the interview process, with a bit of a long pase I get a screen full of text that pops up. It was just general job description and a little how they work. This all sounded great. The major red flag to the conversation was when he started asking application questions. I simply said I am sorry we have to stop right here. Most employers who do applications online have their own websites for this specifically that is encrypted and protected and do not do the application over such applications as Skype or Googlehangouts. I asked him immediately if they had a company Email contact. Well to no surprise he immediately pops up a gmail.com Email. He said he was representing priceline.com I told him I do not think so if you cannot produce a company Email then we are done here. Lessoned learned ask for a company Email up front. This was someone fishing for personal information so be careful out there.

The Truth About Envelope Stuffing Jobs

There seems to be a new trend cropping up lately on Jobcase. In the past week I have seen no fewer the six people inquiring about envelope stuffing jobs.

For those not in the know, this type of work is promised by "companies" as a work-from-home opportunity simply making money to mail out advertisements.

The question begs to be asked though; "Why would a legitimate business want to pay humans to stuff envelopes when they have automated machines that do this already?"

The short answer is, they don't.

Back in the 50's, local and big businesses used home-based employees to stuff mailers with coupons. Not too dissimilar to the Valu-Pak type coupon packets you get in the mail today. However, as automation came to fruition, businesses found that automatic sorting of these types of mailers could best be handled by machines that could literally stuff thousands of envelopes an hour and far surpass any level of productivity a human could do.

Today, any advertisement you see for envelope stuffing jobs falls into the MLM category, although it might be more accurate to call this a wok from home scam.

The modern version of the envelope stuffing job requires that applicants purchase a starter kit that runs anywhere from 40-100 dollars. Let that sink in. What legit business would ask you to pay them so that you can do a job for them? That is a huge red flag.

The job now entails stuffing envelopes with offers to join your work from home team stuffing envelopes. The envelopes you mail out have your ID number on it. When people respond and purchase a starter kit from you, you get a few cents. Not dollars...cents. The more people you can rope into the envelope stuffing scheme the more pennies you can make. There are no products or services you are soliciting. You aren't providing marketing for any reputable company, you are simply a cog in a MLM scheme. The products and services included in the envelopes you mail out either don't exist or of such crap value that no one would actually buy them. But, should you find someone who has maybe been in a coma for the last 50 years, they may purchase something from you..and you get a few more cents.

It is not sustainable income, it costs you money as you have to keep buying mail kits. The more people you bring on the more saturated the "pyramid" becomes which means you are literally scouting yourself out of money.

This scheme is featured on the Federal Trade Commission's website as a known scam/scheme.

To be clear and concise:

THERE ARE NO LEGITIMATE ENVELOPE STUFFING JOBS

Interview?

Good morning, well the lady finally reached me at 3:49 this morning. What real job does that. So, the way she talked to me about answering her in a timely manner was cool but when she said "do I make myself clear". Your not talking to me with that unprofessional tone. So, I said can I have your contact information including a phone number she never got back to me. Then I decided to tell her I will contact the FTC I didn't get a reply. These sort of jobs are scam's plan and simple. I just want her to know that I am aware of what's going on and don't waste my time. I've applied for about seven jobs this week so I'm done for now. Have a great day.
