Lady truckers...how do u stay safe?? I'm pretty used to being OTR alone now but i still feel nervous somtimes... my husband always warns be to be carefull. what do you think is good for women truckers to do to stay SAFE? thanks everybody

Hello, I just need some advice. I work at a great place with great people but there is one lady who suffers from bi polar disorder unmedicated. My husband and two children came to visit me at work and she flipped out per her norm at everyone in the office and in front of my kids. She is very dangerous and unpredictable but sometimes she can be really cool. My husband fears for my safety after witnessing what she does and I have to admit I am a little nervous myself. I do not want to leave my job but with my concerns of safety I feel it may best to protect myself and leave until things are taken care of properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Keeping everyone safe

Yeah, funny story,...So one afternoon after my shift ended, I ,and several hundred BMWMC employees, start the long walk to the parking lot, to get in the car, and go home. We are met by BMWMC security, (red shirted personnel wearing khaki coloured trousers, none of them looked over thirty), and are told that we should return to the building. Some employees push their way past these "security personnel" and get in their cars and leave. We are informed by management that there is a "bomb" in the parking lot, and when the bomb squad deposes of the device, we may go home. I phone my wife and tell her to come get me at another entrance that is not under threat. The remaining employees are kept for several hours until the "bomb" is determined to be Hayward Pool Sand Filter container. It turns out that an associate on A shift sold it to another associate on B shift. The first associate left it behind the car of the second associate where it was observed by security. The Spartanburg County Sheriff was called and after they arrived on site, confirmed that it was a bomb, (even though it was not). A lot of valuable time wasted for a lot of people.

Not really considerable mistakes that could affect safe operación after all.

The biggest mistake I made was believing the upper management when they said that safety is they're primary concern. When issues of significant problems are brought to upper managements attention it comes down to money, but if someone scratches themselves on some plastic banding we have to wear Kevlar gloves and sleeves to prevent scratches. Wouldn't it be wiser to prevent things like long term injuries than short term injuries?
