Holy cow!
I took early retirement from my academic job to go into business( not working), have reentered teaching as an adjunct(Sociology- I have a PhD) . I like teaching Sociology. Adjunct work- they pull the rug out from you for just about any reason - whether or not you perform well or not. I need to get into some other type of work But need job counseling , and I am broke . Any suggestions? I’m really struggling

The best thing I learned from my job was...
That it was a great and fun place to work ! The atmosphere and all the employees were very helpful to each other . I worked in knife department for 5 years—- checking knives and packing. I. Also was the first person to build comptroller heads. That was a favorite job of mine ! From there I went to the foundry and was the first woman to work as wax technician! This was a really fun job required some heavy lifting so I retired after 20 years! I wish I was still there but at 80 years old, I doubt that they have any jobs for old ladies! It was the best job that I have had in my life-time !

I am looking for a change in jobs. I've been at the same job for almost eight years and I would like to make more money and be apart of a great company that I could retire with.

I'm 72 now and...
I have been doing graphic design when the work comes. I have a relatively small Social Security benefit so I have to supplement... and pray alot! Fortunately I am up to date on all bills but I do not know where the next house payment is coming from. I have applied to dozens of recruiters and companies but have had no responses from these so-called "hiring" companies. I can only work part-time and I have tried to be flexible in work hours so businesses will know I am willing to work. I worked at SCTray for 22 years as the first graphic artist where I was trained on the Mac and Adobe graphic software... I am still using it at home. I am paying a monthly fee for the use of it. Does anyone hear me? Robert

Empathy and sympathy
I am a retired LPN And was taught empathy and sympathy by old school nurse instructor. This made me realize how to care for people and not care about how much I made on a paycheck. I used to get so angry with staff that half did their work. When they complained about my job description a supervisor I would tell them I could do your job my job so I ca when they complained about my job description a supervisor I would tell them I could do your job, help you do your job, chart, pass meds, do my treatments, talk to physicians, make rounds every 2 hours and still leave on time with everything done right and nothing left for the oncoming nurse to do. Then you have the nerve to say I don’t do nothing gets the more letters behind your name is other than CNA then you could say something.

46 years later
Worked lots of jobs ,physically and mentally.A sore back is much better than mental abuse even with less money!!! As long as your young and healthy give it the best you got.My 1st jobs as landscaper, meat packing plant,UPS delivery I gave it hell, it was my work out.The mental abuse came with public and management.I love most people but automotive business will wear u out.Pressures daily with numbers and surveys ur pushed to be a person u don't want to be!!! Constant mgmt changes and over-selling to keep lights on.I was very good for many years but to keep my job or have a heart-attack,thank GOD I early retired Before I had to change my personality to succeed!!!!!!!!!!

Found this article about searching for one last job before you retire. Be Blessed :-)

Advice please...
After about a year looking for a job... I finally found one !!! Started in March. I just found out that they only offer three days vacation a year and three days paid sick leave per year. It was exhausting looking for a job. Should I start looking again ? Wife and son are not happy with me at the moment. ( four more years till retirement )

Just got let go
I was recently let go in a position I no longer want to do I worked for this company for 8 months and was told we have to let you go. I worked this same position with another company for over 17 years that owner was on the verge of retirement. So I left and then get fired 8 months into the new job. I am stuck on my resume if I should include the company that fired me and be honest on how it ended or just say I took some time off for 8 months. I am not applying for the same position again but want to try something else..
Any suggestion?

Retired Military
I am so lost in the sauce right now. I retired from the military end of 2016. I had a contracting job with the military until Aug 2018. Since then i have applied to several jobs. I mean tons!!!! With only the sell insurance jobs giving me a call back. I have tons of HR experience, plus my work ethic and yet nothing. Im starting to feel as if i should be greatful for a minimun wage job at a fast food place, and stop trying for something better. With 5 girls to raise om my own i just dont know what to do.
Advice please
