What's the average retirement age in the united states?

“I found that people in this stage in their lives come to this point where they think, ‘What is my legacy? How do I leave my mark? Can you do something at 60 for the next 15 years,”

Here to help

Hello folks. I'm a recently retired Federal Executive. I left sooner than I wanted to care for my mother who has Alzheimer's. Now that I have her settled I thought I'd find something in the private sector but it seems there is no room at the inn for a black, almost 60 leader. But, that's okay, because it gives me a chance to try something different than leading. Find me a gig where I do what I do and let others worry about fixing all the problems. So I'm hunting around for something like that. Maybe go back to my accounting roots.

Anyway, I've been seeing many, many posts here about job issues, bosses, hiring, applying, interviewing, etc. I have a load of experience in most issues to deal with job seekers, operations of organizations, dealing with difficult situations, etc. I've built hundreds of job recruitment documents, held hundreds of interviews, hired hundreds of employees. Dealt with the myriad of daily employee issues, many unions, policy development, strategic planning, pretty much anything on the administrative side. You can look me up on LinkedIn if you want to see my resume... Maybe can google me.

Bottom line, I got time on my hands now that mom is situated. So, if you want, send me your questions and I'll help you out where I can. Know up front I tell it like it is. 25 years of leading people I've seen my share of malcontents, lazy people, etc., and I coach them to try to get them to improve, but if not, they got the boot. It'll be the same here if someone is just whining. Most people are hard working and want to do well. If you are one of those and need some advice, hit me up :)

Frustrated

I know how you feel. I have. Been looking for a job since Dec. and nothing . I have read someone is looking at my resume so many times but nothing. My husband is retired military we have traveled everywhere I never had a problem with fining a job until now. I really want to work from home because I’m not able to stand for long periods of time. It seemed as though their are many jobs from home but nothing yet. I won’t give up I’m going to continue to pray.
