I'm 65, had to give up a real good job ,willingly , to take care of my mom,who had Alzheimer's disease. I loved every minute I took to be with her.But I feel like I can to make up the work time and money I lost, now ..I worked hard, got along with all I worked with just fine and enjoyed my job. It was same job every day but always something new to work with as it was a sample development department..all the different things I learned to do on my previous job helped to do the best I could in the new job..I have worked part time in food service while working in the mill to help my daughter with school..I have good people skills , learn easily, and give it all I got on any job . Even tho I'm retired now,I'd like to have a job to go to again,no matter how menial..I've worked all my life and find staying home a bit boring..

Retired, looking to work at home for good company.
Hello Jobcase, I need an honest legal online job. I think I would like proofreading other's writings. Is that the kind of listing you might get? I am almost 69, in October, and I have a very meager SSD monthly money coming in. I can't live on this amount of money and I don't like asking my grown children for help.

Going Back to Work?
My wife and I decided to retire 10 years ago thinking my we and I had enough to cover us financially through our golden years with retirement plan combining savings, pension, and social security. 2 years later the recession hit us hard so we refinanced our home and made some major cutbacks on monthly expenses to get by. Since then more health complications with my wife's diabetes and rising health care cost have put us in a position where I have to go back to work, at least on a part-time basis, to cover expenses. Here’s where the REAL trouble begins. I’ve been applying for all kinds of sales and service jobs but it seems no one’s interested in hiring a ex-retiree with 10+ years out of work. Anyone here with similar story or experience find work yet? Where and how did you do it?

I need work
My husband and I are on Social Security but do not make enough to pay all the bills. (we don't have credit card debt but are having trouble paying the mortgage, electric, insurance, car payment, etc). I thought we were prepared for retirement but we were not. I am hoping the companies that do help people here will be able to help us. Unfortunately they are closed on Fridays during the summer so I wasn't able to speak with anyone. I have never been in this position before and really don't know what to do. We live in Boynton Beach, FL. I did go to the one agency that helps but they are closed on Fridays during the summer. We do have enough food but need to pay the water and electric bill. (I have called them and I don't think they will shut the utilities off). This is the worst thing I have ever had to go through. I am a Certified Residential Appraiser but have been unable to find a job in my field (or any field). My husband is not able to work because of severe health problems. I am fortunate that my health is good and I am able to work.

I worked for the US Postal Service retired after 23 years! i was only 42 when i retired Now i am 65!
I can kick myself in the butt for retiring from that Federal government job, with the Postal union and the fact that is why you see so many attorney wanting to pursue a political job,Congress and Governor's and Senator's all get paid by the same organization that pay's my pension every month the Office of Personal Management also the FBI CIA Drug enforcement agency are under the same umbrella i am for a Postal Worker which is not rocket science , when you go to your local post office to get stamps and mail a letter those individuals at the window are making 55.000 dollars a year and that not including overtime and i get excellent benefits,Federal Blue cross and blue shield, life insurance, and a great vision and dental plan from a federal dental provider and ferderal vision provider I am 65 years old and could have had 44 years of service invested, i am frustrated that i retired only with 23 years of Service my pension would have more the doubled well there is a reason for everything!
