Change in pay without notification
I was laid off in 2016 after sixteen years service as a graphic designer. I have been a GD for 30+ years working with many programs. I completed AAS degree in Web Design at end of 2018. I have been searching for work as graphic designer for 9 months. After many job offers to sell insurance, I finally got an interview with a printing company for a GD position. Nailed interview, got job & agreed on pay rate (no other benefits). First week I was given little design work. Mostly finishing procedures (padding, cutting, folding etc). Paycheck on the next Monday was at rate promised. The second week, more of same work, little computer work. The second Monday I was called into office and before giving me my check, owners wife says “we’ve decorated, since you just graduated and don’t know computers, we’ve cut your hourly wage $4/hr. So you will notice this check is smaller.” I then told her first that yes I just graduated web design and that I was not hired to do web work for them. I have done graphic work on the computer for 30 years. Using Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign for at lest 10. This pay change was below the pay rate choices that were given as options in the interview, it was not what we had agreed on, it was unacceptable, and I was out of there. I don’t know if I should pursue back pay, file a grievance, report to BBB or what I should do. I did quit the job and am now looking for full time employment again at age 53.

Did I make the right choice
Ok a year ago I was working at a dollar store in the southern U.S. About a month in they started making accusations (all false) but I was living on caffeine (2 cups of coffee and about 4 rockstars) and vape well the accusations led to rumors of testing me for meth and knowing caffiene and nicotine are in that family did I make the right call to bail out

Not the position i interviewd for
I left my job last month after my GM screwed me out of $1600 in commissions in ONE day. I had some capital saved up to last a few months. I've applied at multiple jobs and had a few interviews that didnt go anywhere. I'm switching career fields, so I understand. I've been in leadership positions in almost EVERY job I've had. So, when I interviewed today for a night super spot (local manufacturing plant that pays decent) I was pretty excited. Knock interview out of the park, as always, HR is DYING to get me into the night super spot to get the team motivated and moving. What happens? Ops super decides, nah, put this man in the lowest spot, with the lowest pay, with the unskilled labor teams. (I grew up doing construction, was in the military, I have plenty of skilled labor abilities). I took the job because, well, lifes expensive. It's the opposite of the job I interviewed for, and is $4 less an hour than the position, and it's the day time shift that has some raunchy hours. I need the job, but I'm highly upset with the outcome considering I'm more than qualified. What would y'all do?

Green holder given preference instead of Citizen
I was sexually harassed by my male co-worker of Indian descent and got promoted within the company. I also cannot file for unemployment and also the company is giving me bad references. What can I do?

Getting mad..
It’s been a little over 3 months since leaving my previous employer. I left for various reasons, primarily because I refuse to work in a verbally abusive atmosphere where I had been threatened and accosted by another coworker (for which there was no recourse because HR was non existent). I have submitted applications EVERY single day and not gotten a single response. Not even an automated email saying they’ve decided to move forward with other candidates. I’m beginning to get very angry. I am divorced, I have a 5 year old son, I don’t collect child support, and while my fiancé works his butt off, our bills are still piling up and it feels like we’re drowning. I WANT to work. I am more than qualified. And not once in the last 10 years have I ever been denied a job, let alone not even interviewed. I’ve seen similar scenarios posted here and I’m wondering how everyone else processes this...how they don’t want to scream at the top of their lungs every day..
