I AM 64 YEARS OLD. COMPANY SOLD AND MOVING TO HOUSTON.

Think I will be forced into retirement and finding some part time or contract work. I am an accountant by degree. Any idea on a placement service that works with older candidates in the Oklahoma City metro?

Job Interview 24 hours later I didn’t get the job

I had a job interview on 1/7 with the Guilford County DSS for a supervisor position. I researched the company, practice being on the interview, dressed professionally for the interview, so what did I do wrong. I have been living in NC for 8 months and still unemployed. I called HR back and asked for any feedback. I was told there were others within other county agencies with more experience that I had. In other words, they promoted within. Why waste the public time if you know you’re going to hire within? I am frustrated and not use to this. I think I made a mistake of retiring early from my job and relocated to NC to be closer to family.

Feels not right

Hi everyone. I used to work at 'abc' gas station for about 8 years. I loved my job very much. 2 months ago I had to move out of state so I had to look for another job.. I finally got one , and its at a gas station, so I was really happy. I love, love my new job, BUT, at this new place you are required to ask every one of your customers if they would like to please donate their change to 'United Cerebral Palsy'. Its part of your job and if you don't ask you will get written up... My problem is: I hate it very much when other cashiers ask me if I would like to donate my change, in fact I hate it so much I refuse to go to those stores ever again. There are some customers that also don't like it when you ask them by the look and expression on their face.. Any advice?

Moving away - which address to use

I'd like to move to a new state. Would like to land a job before I head out. My financial advisor licenses are in good standing so I'm not sure why I haven't been contacted. Is it my address that throws my application out of the running?

Relocating to a different state

I've put my resume in businesses near where I am moving too. (Moving to be closer to family) I've been at my job for 25 years and I really like it. I went back to school as older adult, and obtained two associate degrees in engineering fields. These recruiters are only sending me administrative jobs and warehousing, jobs that have nothing to do with what I am searching for or have listed on my resume. On top of that, they've sent me tow motor operator jobs and trucking jobs, of which I do not have any experience in either of those two. I'm almost 50 years old, and I really do not want to go back to school. Also, the wages that have been offered to me are significantly lower than what I make an hour, like $10 less an hour. I'd be a tool to take such a cut. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Looking to move to Las Vegas ASAP but have to have a job lined up before I go. I’m having a hard time even getting a response to my application, is it because I currently live in CA
