79 days to receive rejection notice
We all know sometimes it seems like it takes forever for an employer to look at your resume. But I think this must be some kind of record. I just received this today. (I've deleted the names to protect the innocent).
Dear David: Thank you for your interest in the Information Technology department's Desktop Support Specialist position with the City of -------. At this time, we have decided to pursue another candidate for this position. Blaa... Blaa.
Looking over my records I discovered that I had applied for this job through an On Line Job Site 79 days ago to a Tech Recruiter who forwarded it a local city government. (In truth I had actually forgot about applying for this job). Ok I'll admit it was passed around a little, but still 79 days? I guess this just shows that although it's not really funny, we have a find a little humor where we can.

Need job as soon as possible
I have been out of work for 4 or 5 months now ,everytime i aplly inperson they turn me down ,i have to move next month , Would love to pay pills and afford to move as well..... If anyone has ideas or hiring im all ears! I have no car but my husband can transport me

Rejections
Same here, I turn 59 next month and I been job searching for 12 months and either I get no reply or a rejection saying I do not meet the requirements or qualifications. Not only that I'm a veteran and disabled and I know the veterans have first priority in the job market. I go to job fairs, search through the department of labor, go online sending copies of my resume with a cover letter on the position I'm applying for, with a job searching program with the Veteran's Affairs and still no offers or interviews. It's frustrating and with 2017 coming to an end these companies with not give any more interviews until January 2918. Like everyone else said in their post just hang in there and if it does look like they give you an interview and do not hire you just look somewhere else.

Waited and Waited
I wanted a job change so I went to this steakhouse restaurant that I loved to frequent when treating myself out. I walked in and I introduced myself to the manager. He told me to just go online and do an application. I said ok but I went ahead and did the app in my car in the parking lot and walked right back in. He was stunned that I had finished the application and told me to wait on him to finish covering for his bartender then he would be right with me. I waited 2 1/2 hours patiently only for him to send a waiter over to get my number and tell me that they would give me a call later. He eventually called that night to tell me he was overly impressed so the patience that I showed. He even went as far as to compliment me telling me that I showed the patience of Job (biblical). He said that he usually didn't invite anyone back that quick but that he wanted me to come in for my formal interview at 4 pm the next day. I was thrilled! I got there promptly and was told to wait on him yet again. This time I had to wait for an hour. My interview went great and he told me that he was further impressed with my manners charm and intellect. I was told that I would hear something back within the next 3 days. I waited.... And waited.... On the 3rd day I didn't hear anything back so I called only to be informed that he was not in. I called the next day and the next. On the 4th day I was finally informed that he was sick but that he would be in on the next day. So I waited and called the next day. When he got on the phone at first he acted like he didn't remember who I was and then he told me that they decided to go another route. To say I was heartbroken would be an understatement. How can a seemingly great interview go wrong like that? I didn't understand then and I don't understand now.

Too Professional???
I had and interview with a company that I thought would go pretty well, it was a group interview about 7 people there including myself. towards the end of the interview the employer pulled me and another guy to the side and said that we were too conservative for the position they hire rebels with a cause . I WANTED TO CRY!!! I have never been turned down after an interview BUT TODAY I WAS. it took me a couple days to get over it but I realized that I am not going to change my fantastic personality ill move on an find something as great as me.(thanks for letting me vent)

I'm so frustrated!
I have social media marketing experience (a year and a half) and lots of blogging experience, yet I'm continuously turned down for the jobs I want in social media. I fit the requirements, yet employers still turn me down in favor of other candidates, and when I ask for feedback, I'm told it's because they wanted a candidate with more experience (again, I fulfill the minimum requirements for the positions I'm applying for). While I understand that 100%, how exactly am I supposed to gain more experience and actually progress in my career when employers won't hire me? I don't know what to do at this point - any ideas?

Here we go again!!!
Now this is the third job I have interviewed for and it's just a broken record. They say " I interviewed good nothing bad to say about my interview but still decided to pursue other candidates in this case they decided to go with someone that was referred to them. Why interview anyone if you go with refers first? **see email below

Turned down for being overqualified?
How do you overcome being turned down for being overqualified for a position? I'm trying to expand my skill set - unfortunately being a Data Analyst is very niche and is pretty much all Contractor work. I would love to find something in a different line of work and more stable...

Updated Post 9/28/2017
Today, September 28th, 2017. Last week, I got turned down from Camp Bow Wow again, the interview went really well, but she was just concerned about my own transportation. I haven't had time to get my permit yet or drivers license and if I did, it would take time to find and buy the perfect car, for right now I am getting rides from some of my friends, sister and my mom. Right now, I only have a month to pay my phone bill and I'm out of money until I find my job, I already applied at Five Guys, Walmart, The theaters and Good times, so hopefully I'll get a call and schedule an interview there.

Help!!
Do ups send denial letters for employment in the mail?
