It was a great place. Loved working with the horses, got to ride, had a great boss.
I getting paid for what I loved doing; being in the outdoors, riding horses and working with kids. TVRC is more of a home than a camp. The staff and camper are family and the camp functions as a home with meals all together and activities throughout the day where each of us learn and grow in our skills. This was more than a job for me, it was an opportunity to gain valuable skills in areas that I am passionate about and to cultivate lasting relationships with the people I worked with.
It helped balance the ecosystem. I liked working with the new volunteers and teaching about the delicate balance that humans have in our wetlands.
I love working with the animals ! Animals are my passion in life . You can play with dogs all day and also bath them and clip their nails as well. You can also feed them and make camp fire treats too! I also love to clean and I love making sure their kennel were very clean so that they did not have to catch “kennel cough”.
Working at the beach with nature. Learning what goes on at nite. Get see how crowded a Besch becomes. Also found out what lies in the water below
I love my customers. The special bond with the FAMILY that come back every year
Of the kids. I love to work with kids and teach them right from and wrong. Working as a camp counselor is not easy when it’s 5 days a week from 9-4 and you get 50+ kids. But none of that bothered me because working with children is a passion of mine.
Is the bond you make with people. They become family by the end of the summer. You have bonds of friendship that I believe I’ll have though out life.
Worked there for 8 years. I had great supervisors.
