Pay rate
Hi, I am an x-ray tech that has been with my company for 7 years. My company does not like to give raises so it has been difficult to advance pay wise through the years. I recently found out that newly hired employees were making only 50 cents less than me, which I have worked for for 7 years. They are not experienced, and their work is no up to par with mine. I understand times have changed, and the pay rate may have gone up; however, I still think this is unfair. My question is-- do I bring it up to management that I know what the newly hired employees make? I did not seek out this information- someone else told me ab it. I am afraid that if I bring it up it will only make me mad and cause more issues to an already poorly managed department.

Advice
Hello all first let me Begin by saying that I am using speech to text on this so forgive me for any misspellings or any punctuations that are not correct..... I'm currently employed by an automotive dealership, and about a year ago that decided to add another dealer to our existing dealer the other dealer is a different franchise of course now I have been running both stores for over a year now, with no extra income, no bonuses, no perks ......would I be wrong to go to the owner and ask for some sort of incentive for what I am doing ? I totally understand that for the first three to six months while the dealer gets off the ground income is not there but it's open for a year now so it is making enough income to sustain itself so my question would be would it be wrong for me to go to the owner and ask for a pay increase..... now when we first opened the dealer owner told me that something would be worked out for me there was no time or should I say date set for that..... I would love to hear everyone else's input..... thanks for your time

Get “Raise-Worthy” Attention
I have been working at local small business for a little over a year. The company has 30 outdoor salespeople that occasionally come into the office to meet with clients and 4 office employees including me, the owner, an office manager, and an IT guy. I was originally hired to do light office administration work like answer phones, greet customers, make copies, and set up meeting rooms, etc. but the business has been growing and new sales support responsibilities have been added to my job which I’ve been able to take on and manage with no problems so far. I work a regular 40 hours a week and get paid $10 per hour which is a little over this state’s minimum wage of $8.75 per hour. I looked up the national average for administrative assistant salaries on glassdoor and noticed my current pay is way under the $33K national average. Everyone at work, including the manager, tells me that I’m doing a good job and I feel confident about my responsibilities although I haven’t had a formal employee review yet. I asked the manager about a performance review in Nov and she told me that’s not something they do unless a salesman isn’t meeting their sales goals. It’s a good job a and I like the people I work with but I can’t go on too much longer on the current pay. How can I ask for a raise without setting off a red flag?

still temp but feel im under paid
Due to the high volume and under skilled or should I say lazy employee. The work Im acciaple of doing, i really think im under paid and how do I get more.

I need pay raise.but my review is not until April this year.?
Thanks for explaining this.

Temp to hire
If I'm a temp and the company wants to hire me, would that be a good time to ask for a raise?

General service technician
Money is tight. I don't know whether I should ask for a raise or just get another job. I don't have enough money to keep me up for two weeks with a car payment due and insurance .

Year End Bonuses and Raises! Received Performance Review for 2016 and it was identical to the 2015 Review.
I will start off by saying I am moving teams within the company and that is causing some ill will from my current manager/director.
This review, however, was written before I gave word that I would like to move teams.I have done many things this year that were above and beyond my current title/pay. I am listed as a Senior Analyst yet I was the manager of multiple people all year and managed multiple client relationships. I created the pricing structure for a client whose revenue immediately jumped 30% when implemented and has grown over 60% YTD (mostly due to an increase of work). Even with the workload doubling, I was able to create efficiencies that allowed the hours spent on the client to remain the same. I was also one of two people who were not at the management level in my company to be selected to present at a conference that was hosted by our company. Despite all these accomplishments, management was not interested in promoting me anytime in the near future or raising my salary besides the standard cost of living/inflation increase (much of the reason why I am switching teams).
It's hard for me to hear from other employees who have a similar title and display similar performance to receive MID-YEAR performance bonuses of $5,000 along with what will be a hefty year raise/bonus. When I received my performance review for 2016, it seemed very familiar from 2015. I went home that night and pulled my 2015 review from the file. After reviewing both documents, they were identical outside of one sentence. My manager didn't even update the date on the top of the review.
I am awaiting the final raises/bonuses and am trying to prepare to confront my director if the raise/bonus isn't on par with the work I actually completed for the year. Do you think I have a case to confront my manager about the performance review? Is it even worth trying to fight for a raise/bonus even if I am moving teams? All feedback and help would be appreciated

I'm desperate...
I'm stuck in a cycle of increasing bills and I can't see a way out. How can I ask my manager for a raise without making it seem like I'm desperate? I need more money but I have my pride too...

There was an open position at work that no one was capable of doing
I was unemployed for a couple of months, I finally decided it was time to send my resume out to some companies that were hiring I didn't want a SM position so I applied for a ASM position and was called back from a couple of companies I. ended up taking one of the job offers as a ASM well about 2 1/2 months later I walk in the office and first thing I was asked was would I be interested in the freight managers position I said thanks but no thanks and the conversation ended there. So needless to say about a month later again im walking in to the office and again the store managers first words were "Ok how much more pay do you want to take the position" I was somewhat shocked so I was like ok I sat down and looked at her and just said to myself yeah right so I gave her a dollar amount and she was like okay I'm going to make a call to the DM and let her know this is what you want and I'll let you know what she said, I said ok next day I was told that the DM approved my pay increase Well about a month later nothing I seen the DM she says I sent your pay raise in and you should be getting it anytime now. To make a longer story short its been going on 10 months and still nothing I have talked to my manager I've talked to the DM and still nothing what do I do without getting them in trouble because I don't want them to know it was me that made that call. Is there any other way please I need some advice from hopefully someone who is or has worked or working in human resources.
