Racism in hiring
I am one to believe and know that racism is still prevalent in the United States and in particular in the hiring process in both private sector and government jobs. The black male is the least desirable candidate when a selection process is conducted, regardless of educational background, military service, experience, skill level and overall competence. The black male will be looked over in a deliberate attempt to "keep it white". South Florida has the most racist and blatant hiring standards in the country. Companies know by statistical research that the least likely individuals who are bi-lingual are black men, and in south Florida, this hiring barrier has been placed to keep black men out of their companies. And they aren't jobs that typically have a consumer base that is Hispanic whereas the company may need a Hispanic or bi-lingual person to deal with that portion of their clientele; They now have bi-lingual requirements for jobs that don't even require much rhetoric, for example forklift operator, crane operator, construction worker, customer service representative, and bank teller. When was being bi-lingual a requirement to operating a forklift a true entity. Besides, this is America and the language here is English, not Spanish, not french, and bi lingual required is another blatant smack dab in your face statement of racism. There is also a rash of coonism on jobs that hire black women. A lot of black women throw their black male co-workers underneath the bus, and step and fetch it for their white or Anglo-Saxon bosses. It's another blatant element of racism.

Race verse Experience
Using my Race verse my years of experience
I was recently contacted via email from an Associate Executive Director from Maplewood of Darien. We corresponded through email and so she had to break one of our interview date. After which I asked her if I could meet with her later Monday, September 11 after five if possible. She agreed and we did ,let's just say when she saw me the applicants she had a surprise on her face cause I wasn't what she was expecting. I had deliberately checked white checked for ethnic background so she was expected a white applicant . Today she sent me the your great but we are going with someone else, which is not true the position is still open. We as African-American female /Male now being black balled whether it's corporate America or Healthcare behind the ethnic background that you must check or they do not process your application. Racism is real wake up people wake up.

Racist or what
I'm working at a temp job were the owner of the company referred to an African American woman that helped her as Ancha Momma. She went on a business trip and the African American woman helped her with her badge that didn t work. So while she tells the story each time she looks at me while saying anc ha Momma. I didn't react I was shocked . She too old not to know better and no one looks like that. I am 1 of two blacks that work for her.

Can We Try Not to be Racist Please
This is not meant to be virtue signaling, I promise. But...
I know that the internet affords a certain modicum of anonymity, meaning, you can say pretty much whatever you want without fear of an actual reprisal. The worst that can happen is someone posts a counter argument or the thread devolves into personal attacks.
I don't understand the mentality of some of our fellow Jobcasers who feel that they have to turn every post into an attack against people of different ethnicity, religions, and race.
Not only is it in poor taste, it also violates the terms of use:
"Don'ts. You agree that you will not: Act in an unlawful, libelous, abusive, obscene, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable manner"
You don't have to love everyone, but you should be able to function as an adult and keep your unsavory opinions to yourself.
Can we try not to be racists please?

Racism
Favoritism between white and black... Need new GM and new staff.

Drama at #GreyTooth
There was a customer that made racial slurs directed towards an African American customer.
I had the customer escorted from the premise.

At my breaking point....
I was turned down on 2 jobs because of a felony I got 23 years ago. I know a fellow on one of those jobs and he was told that they didn't want a convicted NIGGER in their place of business. He is of Anglo Saxton decent and works in HR. But he has been a friend of mine since childhood. And he said that's what one of his superiors told him after I left the interview. ....

My advice to people interested in working at #Ganleysubaru as a #Financedirector ...
If you are black and selling cars you are fine. If you get promoted which is highly unlikely. I just could not be held back. My talent and perseverance lead the way for me. But don't get into management. The bigots will make it hard for you to earn a penny.

Crazy story @ #USSteel
That place sucks A$$! worst mistake of my life going there! Racists all over the entire place &management covers it up.. Currently in court suing those punks!
