Ambition
When I started working for patina Restaurant Group I started off as a overnight cleaner working the graveyard shift not knowing much about cooking but soon found myself to be a Sous Chef after hard work and much persistence. After 3 years of working for the company I got promoted twice and got a raise three times because I had ambition. Most people pay $30,000 to go to The Cordon Bleu to learn how to cook and be a chef I got this for free. So work hard and be persistence, we all have what it takes to accelerate but have to believe in ourselves to do so.

Moving forward
How do i tell my boss that i want to move up in the company without telling him

Soemtimes it just works out..and prayer helps too
Over the past several years my job kept getting worse and worse. If someone was let go or quit they would not replace them they just re-assigned their duties to the ones who were left. We constantly had to do more with less and less. It got to the point where we had half the people we once had and the work never let up. Every year we would get no raises or bonus, but we got great reviews and told how valuable we were. The company was a large one and they kept buying other companies and when the end of the year came they claimed they have nothing to offer, but "good job, and thanks". "Keep up the good work..''team". My Manager played his part and would say anything he had to in order to keep us going, lies, promises, whatever, just to keep us going. I am not a young man anymore but I was at the end of my rope. I could have held on like many and made it through to retirement but I felt I deserved better. I have always been a hard working and loyal employee and they way things are today in the workforce it should be a crime. People are treated like they should be grateful to even have a job, and what they want does not count. The people at the top keep getting richer, they get their bonuses, they get raises but the unwashed masses get nothing. I thought it was that way all over, but I was wrong. I took the chance and floated my resume and it only took a few weeks and I was giving my 2 weeks notice. I prayed and God answered my prayers. I am now with an even bigger company, but they actually care about the employees. I can't believe how nice they are, how genuine they are and how they are concerned about me and my family. WHAT??? There are companies out there who deserve loyal employees like you, there are companies that are successful and give you a piece of the pie. My paycheck comes from my employer but the satisfaction I have in my soul comes from God. Merry Christmas to you all and pray, it works.

Stuck!
I've worked for my company for over 7 years now and have "moved up the ranks" to my current position. The problem is that I've been stagnant for the last 4 years in my current position largely due to tumultuous shifts in leadership. Basically, I have to "prove" myself to each successive management staff, which is getting rather annoying, especially since we're supposed to have a performance review system that documents job performance. In other words, I've proven myself time and again and the record shows this. Earlier this year, they "hand picked" me to lead a training effort. I asked at that time for a review of my new job responsibilities against the existing job descriptions of the two levels above my current one. Well, we're now at the end of 2017 and I'm still at the same level. My inclination is to give up and move on but would like the group's input. Please, tell me what has (or hasn't) worked for you!

I felt thankful for my job when #Stephenpipeandsteel
Well see I worked there before in 2013/2014 for 9 months, and in that nine months time I learned every aspect of the job. so when I went back, this year, I was training people I was in orientation with, my first day back

My coworkers and I did something great together when...
There was this timing my co-worker went out of our way loading the cattle Gates and our supervisor was so impressed that you recorded us and showed it to his boss in order to get us a raise when I was only working there for like 2 weeks and I got bumped up from 11:50 to like 12:50 to $13 an hour

Title confusion
I was recently transferred to a different division of a company I have worked with for approximately 3 years. Logistically, this was a beneficial move because It's a much shorter commute. The new role also offers more challenges/opportunities to allow me xontinued learning and experience.
The problem is, when I was transferred, I was not given a new title, a pay increase, or even a set of documented job responsibilities. I insisted on all of these before I moved but was, literally, ignored and avoided by tge Regional Manager. Consequently, I am now being overwhelmed with new projects as well as being pulled in 10 different directions.
How do I pin down the things I asked for before the transfer?

Question
So I've been at my job since the beginning of July. We have a very high turnover rate and I was looking to get atleast full time since I'm currently part time. Well my Store Manager was pushing for me to get that position but a hold was put on it because we were getting a new District Manager. We were without a new DM for about a month and then my Manager told me he was pushing it through once again since the new DM was assigned. Well I had worked with the new DM once at one of our other locations instead of my home store and at the time he was trying to get me to come work at the location he was at because he like my work ethic. I did my job and I helped out other places when needed. Well after he became the new DM he spoke to me about my Manager pushing for full time for me and I told him yes I was looking forward to that. He said that I needed to improve my attendance. Understandable but that's all he stated. Well as of yesterday I'm informed that I'm not able to get full time because the DM doesn't approve of my appearance. I work around car parts and change batteries and bulbs and get grease on my uniform. Due to me doing my job he says that my uniform disqualifies me from full time. Also he doesn't want me representing the company because of that. I'm thinking of going to HR about this. What should I do? Any ideas on how to handle this issue?
