Recently moved to the US. Same language, different meanings?
I have recently re located to the US in the Seattle area. My wife was offered a great opportunity here and we thought we would take this chance of something different and exciting. Coming from England, I know we speak the same language, but sometimes words have different meanings. I am after some advice on wording for CVs (resumes) that will actually mean something to the US employer. I am primarily in the Facilities Management (estates / corporate / residential) and Project Management field. Does anyone know what the market is like for FM / PM in the Seattle area? Is it all tech here?
Changed profession from System Admin to Project Manager
I am now certified as Scrum Master via the Scrum Alliance.
Yet all I keep getting in the line of job possibilities is System Admin positions, any way I can get the recruiters to actually look at my Resume and Cover Letter instead of just scanning for matching words?
Looking for Project Management work in Denver
I was working for the State f Colorado and I am no longer. I am having a hard time finding another position, I started looking before my contract ended and still no luck. Does anyone have any ideas? I have been submitting tons of resumes and nothing. I have had several interviews but nothing pans out. I know a lot of these positions come by word of mouth does anyone know of any positions they can refer me to?
