
need opinions
So I've been at my current job for almost a year. I work at a library. I was promoted almost instantly due to an older staff member leaving for various reasons or another and because I had the work experience. The job is simple and peaceful. Except however, for those days my boss decides to belittle me in any way she can. While I understand this is something bosses tend to do quite a bit, I can't help but notice I'm the only one she does this to.
Every time I come up with an idea, she shoots it down. I tried to create a club to bring in more local kids and she expected me to allow her to have another librarian from a whole different branch take it over but still give her all the ideas and set up everything.
On top of that, there are three other individuals I work with. I've been told that two of them don't check the Dropbox at the end of the night. And the other calls off or comes in late constantly and is never given a hard time.
Mind you, yesterday I was 5 minutes late. My 3 yr old was in one of his "mommy don't go" fits and I got a bit behind. So, I take full responsibility for that, of course. But I came in and she just tears in to me as if this is something I do repeatedly. She made it sound like I'm not allowed to go to my locker when I come in, I need to start working immediately. I was shocked. If I ever had to call in or call to say I was running late, I did. I know I'm not supposed to be late but why am I the only one being lectured? The other employee has been 45 minutes to an hour late and again, nothing. 5 minutes (that also, prior to this I had been told we were given) and I felt like I was on the verge of being fired. There's more detail I could go into but honestly, I don't want to. I really do love what I do. So many people are pleased with the help I provide them. I'm complimented by my patrons multiple times a day. But my boss.... I see many double standards. Even my patrons have said they see it. I just don't know what to do. People tell me to talk to her boss. I'm not so sure that's a good idea. I'd like to try speaking with her but I doubt that would play out well either. What do I do?

Question: Is a full head of hair acceptable as a guy in an office for an accounting/finance job?
It's just I need to know if this would affect any future employment opportunities, such as for interviews and hiring decisions, whether there is a bias against this. My hair isn't like 80s metal long or even to my shoulders, it's just what you would describe as the average full head of hair, maybe skater ish. Does anyone know for a fact that they've seen guys in this field with a full head of hair or longer? I've asked around, I hear it's rare but frowned upon. I'd like to hear your inputs. I mean straight out of college I've still had 2 offers that were lower pay that I didn't take but I need to know the full scope of hiring managers' perspective in this field. Thanks.

Interview gone wrong
I am so angry because i went to a interview at the raceway on broad st arrived a little early because i felt it was professional i get there the manager is yelling across the store why am i here 30mins early the cashier yell back across the room. Why are u her 30 mins early your suppose to came at 10 i said im aware of that he said arrive a little early so i go back to the car n wait till 10 i go back in they are acting like a circus no-one acknowledge i was there so after 15 mins of watching the manager stare at me while i wait i tell the man. Im here for a interview he continues to ignore me i mean i went for a assistant store manager position n walking in a instantly wanted to fire the whole staff that was majority store manager's smh it was so unorganized i knew if the manager's behave like this then i dont want to have to part of it

Scheduled phone interview
So I had scheduled a phone interview with a recruiter. I planned my day around it and made sure that I was home with my resume in front of me at the agreed upon time. The I made sure earlier that day that the recruiter had my cell phone and house number just in case one of the numbers didn't work for some reason. The time came and the recruiter never called. I emailed the recruiter about 15 minutes had past to see if the interview was still happening. She has yet contact me and it's been about 4 days now. I find it really unprofessional I have not received a reason why the phone interview never took place nor have I received an email asking to reschedule. I understand that unforeseen emergancies happen however I thought that if that happened someone else from HR would have notified me on what going one.

No confidentiality
So, I just got hired at an assistant living /rehab facility. I went in to fill out some hiring forms. So as I'm sitting there waiting, I heard a lady (just as clear as day) talking about suspending this woman she was on the phone with. I heard the woman's name and what she was getting suspended for. I couldn't believe that dumb broad didn't close her door. So when she was done being unprofessional than a mofo, I told the receptionist that I could hear the whole conversation. I'm surprised the receptionist didn't hear it. Anyways, she went in there and told her what I said. This woman first tried to justify her mistake, then quickly apologized with a not so good tone in her voice. After that, I thought about that situation for two whole days. Well, I found out that lady was the administrator. I decided to report that woman to the cooperate integrity hotline. I don't feel like even the boss should be able to get away with that. In the medical field there's no room for those type of errors. The administrator called and apologize to me once I told the Don about it and that I didn't want to work there anymore because of that red flag. I accepted her apology but she still is going to have to deal with corporate.

Walmart
I went through an interview and it went well enough manager says he just has to figure out where he wants to put. I call and repeatedly told to call back the following week. This ended just this week. I am told that they took a month to decide they weren't hiring me.I mean what th hell, you don't string someone along for a month and then just don't even have the courtesy to let them know they don't have the job. Completely unprofessional in my opinion,

Person Lied on me on the temp position...don't understand...Why?
I finally land a position with a Temp Agency Robert Half, it was a very long commute, however, I didn't care was glad for finally get an on-going assignment with Robert Half...have been trying for a year. I was commuting sometimes for 2 and 3 hours but didn't care was going the whole 9 yards with hope for other assignments. However, the person I was working with was a difficult employee but she was in charged. I did everything to corporate with her and her control issues. As a receptionist not making much money at all spending a lot of money commuting but was going to do my best and hang in there. However, knew it was not a job to focus on getting permanent behind the commute, but for now, I was ready and willing to stay as long as it took to land a job closer. She calls the agency and lied on me today and my assignment was ended. I was so hurt again someone lied to me and got me fired again. The Government now this. Here I go again. I worked hard to be there every day on time, got there early. Help any way I could doing my best to get along with her down talking to me in a very unprofessional manner and trying my best to tolerate her and get alone with her. But today she called the agency and told them I was complaining all the time about the commute and that was a lie. I didn't do that at all and said I was complaining also about the pay. Now I have been working for over 30 or more years and is 60 years old and know you don't do that to any employer. Why I don't understand people on these jobs today and why they do stuff like that and to be as bold to lie outright on me. That was mean. I don't know if the agency will believe me or not or if they will continue to work with me thinking I am as unprofessional as to do that. I am having a hard enough time after the unjust termination from the Feds and that I was railroaded and lied on now this. What is a person to do? I will continue seeking employment one day someone will see the good employee I am and stop trying to hurt and destroy me for nothing. I am a pretty good person, with good skills but people keep attacking me and doing things to set up my demise. I will keep praying for them and believing that God has something for me out there. God knows I don't deserve what I am getting, It hurts and I am sad because I can't believe she did that and lie is just too much. Why?

Are you qualified? And what the ...!
So I work in the hospitality industry and have quite a lot of experience in field. I'm not sure on how to think with the recent interview I was just given , the phone conversation was a complete "you got it" vibe and he also set up a free night at the hotel to do a one on one interview at the location. When I made the trip up there (which was a three hour drive) I checked in and then was handed off to someone I was told about for right around a15 minute interview . I was asked three questions and then told that I was completely perfect for the position. Then was set free for the rest of the day to wonder around. The next day I had a 3 hr tour with the guy that I was originally suppose to have the interview with , so it took all day , after he pretty much told me he stole from the company and showed he openly starts gossip about his employees . At the end of this I got my 30 min interview with him and other than feeling , in my head not aloud, that he was completely unprofessional as the head of the department I was applying for he asked me if I was still interested , I said yes then gave me a "we will let you know" I've been a manger for this department before and i do not understand how he is where he is . It makes me think that if you are experienced and worked hard for it...it can basically be ignored of someone who is no where near that level and has the possibility to be your potential boss . Anyway he called me right when i was heading back to another long trip in the opposite way and gave me a last confusing thought to add to my already confused mind on what I just went through. He told me to have a good weekend and that my references were great . .

Wake up and live.
I've been following conservations for a while, I just have a few questions. 1) What will happen when all of us baby boomers retire and start taking our social security benefits, retirement, investment, you know stuff like that. Our parents left many assurances for us: Stay in school at least graduate from high school, invest in yourself and when others notice that, they will invest in you. There is so much out there for everyone if you need to go back to school then go, if you have a dream to fulfill then do so. I'm worked will so many people that have complained about the system will not help them. My question is how about you help yourself. At least complete high school that is the beginning of success, there are so many agencies that are reaching out to support. I had a young man in my office who point blank told me, "He was looking for a Suga Momma". I was polite and professional: We don't support nor have any such position, then proceeded to go forward with the interview. He had not completed high school and when he realized I was there to support him and help, not judge the conservation went in a different direction. Our agency supported him and enrolled him in a GED class and when completed come back and now is working. Sometime all anyone needs is: Hope, Trust and you are not a failure , Homemade Bread is not bread until it goes thru the correct process. You know a little heat, don't fix the problem but teach the result. One step at a time.

I didn't get the job
Well, looks like I got shut out again. But maybe it's for the best. From what I've been told, new employees are often the scapegoat and get treated like sh** especially if they don't march in lock step and follow along with the county corruption. I don't kiss anyone's ring and I'm not going to cow-tow to a mob of good ol' boy red-necks and jerks. So I've started looking again.
