Human Services/Customer Service

I have over 15 years in customer service and 10 years in human service field with the government. Moving to Wilmington, NC the beginning of April 2018 and having difficulty landing a job. Interviewed with a county for 4 positions that I was well qualified for and did not get any of them. I am almost positive the interview went went. Hoping to find something that is comparable in pay to what I made here, >$45000/yr. Keep getting job requests for $12/hr, I am appreciative but it does not pay my bills and I have to wait 90 days for insurance. I have a B.S. in Psychology, MBA, Master's Certificate in HRM, and currently working on doctorate. Is this hurting me? instead of helping me?

Lotsa experience, no job offers

Was let go from a small not for profit community group home position after having been there for 15yrs, in the field for 18. That was in September, and still haven't been able to find work anywhere else. Numerous applications and interviews, always the same. Either" too much experience" or not a high enough degree for what they are looking for. Now am out of unemployment benefits and still no job. Makes you feel like what am I doing wrong, ya know? Any advice from folks?

Over qualified?

I've been on some interviews and told I was over qualified for the position. What are they really trying to say? So annoying.

Too much Experience

My interview today was disappointing with a privately owned carrier, to have applied for dispatcher work. The OPS and Regional Manager talked with me about the systems WMS, TMS, my Logistics operational accomplishments. I was told, "my management experience is above what is being offered", and "what is my- real motive, am I a spy, looking to steal customers" ? I explained to both of them, California Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, protect applicants, to add these questions are inappropriate, and can lead to legal repercussions. I was escorted off the premises with nothing more said. Unbelievable to see and hear how the hiring methods or becoming unethical. I will follow up with the Corp HR Director.

Accomplished chemical physicist WHO CAN'T FIND A JOB!!

I'm furious, exasperated, dejected and embarrassed, all at the same time. I'll take anything: HS or MS science/math. I'll take Wall St. analyst any day of the week(I live in NYC). I'm wholly qualified to teach college-level courses (I was an at-will adjunct professor last semester). What the hell???!!!!!! This is ridiculous...
