Is it common for employees to complete a credit check and if so what exactly are they looking for?

My position just got eliminated after 17 years of working with this company Although I may not have a high school diploma I’ve worked in the healthcare industry 27 years from nursing assistant,to admissions assistant to care Management Assistant I’m Am intelligent and learn fast right now I’m just feeling lost because I feel that companies are not going to give me a chance to show my skills because of not having a diploma I’ve worked hard to get these positions and showed them that I can do the job. So I’m just asking if you read this just give me a chance to prove that I’m the lady for the job thank you.

I have been underemployed for 2 years, its ridiculous. I've only been able to find prn and contract work because they keep opening pharmacy schools. I'm sure God will open a door for me but I'm so exhausted with this game. I feel like I wasted my time and money going to pharmacy school

My name is Vika. I was let go from a job as a CNA. I was let go due to the fact that I was a “good CNA” just not for this facility. We were always short staffed, and always a demand for excellent care. This was my first job as a CNA, was told this was a good place. They wanted me to work overtime quite a bit(I was FT, 40hrs) , and only did it once, will never do it again. There was a lot of back sneaking done unfortunately, people saying one thing and then shooting you for what you do right. Had a work men’s comp case and somewhere in the process they stopped talking to me about what happened then I was denied. Had to go back and reexplain the situation and then they said something else and eventually it came out that I didn’t tell them all the details, which didn’t happen. It ended up that my employer was wrong and I was compensated. Somewhere they made it sound like my fault, when I was doing they wanted. All this to say they didn’t like me cause I wasn’t pleasing their residents, and didn’t quite cut their unrealistic goals for patient care. Even weirder my manager fired me over the phone on my day off, odd enough on top of everything else. Please give me any advice on how to view this, and what to expect. I really loved the place, and would love to work with patients.

I work for bailey creek nursing home I work the 10pm -6am shift I love my job I've wanted to be a cna dor a long time my grand mother took care of me till I was 16 cause my mom and dad worked when I got a little older I saw she could not move around the same and I started to care for her she was so sweet and loving and kind. She had cancer she passed when I was 16 one of the worsted days of my life and she never wanted to be in a nursing home so I wanted to work at a nursing home to try to make it better for other people's family members. I love being a CBS the most rewarding part of the job is to see that I put a smile on one of there faces .....

I've been a cna for 10 years and I've been trying everything to get an office position because I can't physically handle being a cna anymore and it's almost impossible like no one wants to hire a cna as a receptionist

After 8yrs of working as a home health aide it's time to get back in a facility where I can utilize my skills and training and possibly learn more!

I have reached out to the community before but really didn’t get much feedback. I am trying to relocate to the Tampa/Clearwater//St.Petersburg area in Florida. I have so much experience, a diploma and 3 degrees. My nursing license is not currently active because I need to take a RN Remediation course since it’s been inactive for more than 5 years. I intend to do that but I need to be a Florida resident. I have applied for roughly 230 jobs in the past 9 months and have received 3 phone calls all of which offered to pay me half of what I make know. I get that the general cost of living is supposed to be cheaper but my car payment isn’t going to change. My phone bill isn’t going to change. My car insurance may change but who knows if that’s up or down. My life insurance isn’t going to change. My food and monthly household and hygiene products isn’t going to be a big change, if at all. So, it is impossible to live on half of what I make now. I went back to school and got my masters degree to be more marketable but it obviously didn’t work. I rewrote my resume at least 5 or 6 times and had 2 different professionals rewrite it as well. I feel like I’m stuck in a black hole that I’m never going to get out of. I’m looking for a supervisory/assistant director/assistant manager preferably) position in the healthcare or human services including mental health and substance abuse. Can anyone point me in a direction that might land me a job so I can get out of this frigid state? TIA

I live in a small community. We have one large hospital and I worked for it faithfully for 20 years, literally half my life. Then I was hired working at a smaller cliche hospital about 50 miles away where my life was hell. I never missed a day, showed up early. After working 9.5 years in home health and hospice this was an inpatient unit and I even asked for some more training that I wasn’t given. I made a mistake one night left out some meds unattended and got written up. Then a week later I was accused of not scanning 3 patient medications at the end of shift. I returned to work. When I logged my badge in the computer those meds were showing on the computer. I reported this to my boss. I even showed this to the unit nurse who I gave report to, the meds had not crossed over for some reason. Well guess what I GOT FIRED!! Over computer issue. On the report it states the unit nurse watchednme scan packets of meds to enter thosenpaktient medications wth!!! I did no such thing. I was denied unemployment of course. Not a single nurse I worked with would respond to text messages after I got fired they all just wanted me gone. So with a bad recommendation from there a denial for unemployment and I did appeal and that was denied I am in screw me land just praying for someone to give me a chance.
