As General Manager of my last job, salary was used as a whip to work whomever labeled with it like a Slave literally. I even had big wigs forget they were talking to me, “another salary abused employee “ that wasn’t just white collar worked to the bone (90% of my days were manual labor) , these HNIC(CEO) has the nerve to say “Give the new guy salary so I can work the dog piss out of him! I gotta get every penny worth out of him” .. Smh... Unbelievable!... but very real... Too many employers are using this new age form of slavery using Salary as a way of justifying abuse and misuse of paying someone their hard earned income wages while getting double and triple the amount of worked hours from these employees deemed classified as “salary” paid employees. Being paid for 40 hours while contributing mandatory 120 plus hour weeks on a regular basis is just not fair, humane, honest, or justifiable in any perspective. Plz feel free to chime in with your thoughts on this, I know I’m not alone out there. I don’t know why our state of NC shot down the law of paying overtime for salary employees to stop employers from abusing the system in such the way as we see it happening today. Cmon NC , let’s speak up and make our voices heard to end this unjustly form of labor abuse. Loop holes are found everyday, so where is the one that works in the favor of “the people”??

I just moved to the north Carolina about 3 weeks ago from new York. Currently staying in raeford until end of next month and then will be some what near sanford. I feel like I may have drove down here in the delorean and went back in time lol. In new York I was an independent contractor doing home remodeling. I've driven every neighbor in sanford, fayettville and raeford and I just don't see much promise for remodeling houses around here. I'm I wrong to think this? Seems like trying to get hired by a company is just as hard. They expect you to be extremely knowledgeable of the trade but the pay is so low I don't understand how these employers have such high expectations. Even for a simple property management job at an apartment complex i didn't qualify because i'm unable to speak Spanish. This is nuts to me.

I'm in a very tough situation right know Im living on Tyndall air force base right now and suppose to be moving in with my boyfriend..i was recently suppose to move back into my moms house down in goldsboro NC ,but then it got cancelled and I want moving any more so it shook up my hours working at cracker barrel down in Panama City.I told them I want moving any more and they said okay they gonna squeeze me in some hours so I waited n waited n never got in any hours so I called them and I asked them about it and they said someone is in my spot taking hours right now so I got to wait...
