HELP! I really need some help here. I've been a manager for about 16 years, so to me that's pretty easy. I also have a disabled son in middle school and the transition is hard for him. Very hard. Right now and for the last year I've been jobless due to my son and his transitioning. I've been throwing around ideas about trying to open a business, or something like that to help the community in some type of way, in these areas or something like that. But I don't have the funding don't know where to look, or go. Something like this could help about 30 percent of my city, and employ about 125 people, myself included. Please any ideas share or contact.

So I’ve been working at my corporate job for roughly 2 years, and I hate it. I dread going to work, it is not in the field of what I studied, and my boss is a misogynist condescending you know what. (He’s also currently under investigation by the company because so many clients and employees have reported him) after applying to countless job over the last 4-5 months I received a call back from a non-profit organization. The job is right up my alley, and something I feel would fulfill me at the end of the day- the pay is even 20,000 more a year than what I’m making now! The only problem is the organization is fairly new, the turn over seems high, and although the interviewer was extremely pleasant - the work environment was very “meh” do I take the risk in hopes of a more fulfilling job? Or do I stay where I’m comfortable able and hope for the best? Any advice?!

I have an extensive history working with nonprofits and not sure how to rebrand showing the relevance of past experience? I spoke with friends in a worked with other ministry orientated organizations and they struggled with the same issue. Any ideas?

Arts and nonprofit management are areas I know best via my academic and work experience. However, I enjoy working in any environment that encourages creativity, including community partnerships, small/local companies, fashion merchandising, event planning, social media management, and more.

55, out of work now for over a year. Several interviews always come in 2nd. I last worked for a convention center but also have experience in non-profit and have tried to get back into it. Would also consider Health Care or retirement communities, but they won't talk to me without experience...Looking for suggestions.
