Like they always say.......3rd times the charm!!

So about 4 months ago, I put in an application with a Property Management company who was hiring for a front desk agent. I was called for an interview a month later. 2 weeks after my interview, I finally received a response from them but it was just to let me know that they'd hired someone else. A month later, they reached out to me again to let me know a new position had opened up and wanted to know if I could come interview for it, so I did, but with a different manager this time. This position was for a leasing coordinator and community manager. After the interview, I didn't hear anything from them for 2 weeks, so I reached out to them. They said they still were conducting interviews but that I was at the top of their list for the position. Another 2 weeks past and I heard nothing. I went on indeed and saw that recently posted an advertising for the position again so I left it alone. A week later I got another call and told me to come in this past Monday as they were hiring again for a different position. I was like if they are calling me a 3rd time they must like me and are just trying to figure out the best position for me. Sure enough, I went to the interview and was offered the position on the spot. The best part is I am way more interested in the position they finally offered me than the other two positions I came in for. Sometimes you just have to wait, believe, and pray. I am so excited and grateful. I am now the prospect coordinator and showing agent for a well known property management company.

The biggest mistake I made as a #Salesexecutive at #R.H.DonnelleyCorp ...

Leaving after 10 years of job security. No real regrets however.

What to do Next?

I was just terminated from my job after having it out with the Assistant Manager who was constantly nitpicking and bullying me. I am ready for the next job and want to reinvent myself. How should I do it?

New Job

After about 2 years searching for the right position and taking jobs that paid a lot less than I needed. I took them for a cash flow, not that they helped. I had to lose everything to get back to where I was or better. I am much happier, and have a great job with awesome management. It is at 3x the money I was getting and within a few months I will be able to get into my own place again.
Remember that you are not alone and we are all here to help.

Hi to my fellow job caser. I got a job!

I had been signed up with Kelly svcs and I had one temp job thru them that ended starting the second week in December. Then all they were calling about were jobs an hour and half away. They were an hour away from their office. I contacted them asking why they were only sending me info on those jobs. I asked about any jobs in ft worth or arlingtin(where the office is located). Their answer well we don't usually handle any jobs in those areas you would have to call a ft worth office. Really. I said applied in Arlington because it was centrally located for the job areas I was looking for. They had no answer. So after New Years I decided to try an agency that was 10 mins away. I went in talked to them. After they had all the info on my background check they would call me. So a few days later I called and was told that oh I was to call them. And that I needed to call 2 times a week to stay active. So when a job came thru they would start with who kept calling. Again really who has time to keep calling the same place all the time.

So that weekend I saw another temp agency in close proximity on the same street just in a different direction. It was called express professional employees. Thought that they might have office work. Got dressed up like a professional and applied. Once you applied they schedule an interview with one of placement agents. So I went back that Wednesday. They wanted me to work for their agency. They said they had a job right then that was a long term assignment. It's 2 mins from my house. I live in midlothian and it's a small town but we have an auto park (international). The cars coming off the boats come there before eventually going to a dealer. The job? I drive cars to the different lots there or go put gas in, wash, and then to the shop. I never leave the property while doing the job because it's 6 square miles. I work with the same people every day. A van takes to the cars, sometimes we are dropped in different lots but we end up same place. Van driver picks us up and off we go to another. We ride with the same driver and van every day. There's zero stress. No one is in the car with me telling to do one thing and another telling me to do something else. It's just me and the car. Tho I can't listen to music in the car, I'm not in it long enough to matter. If the weather is bad we just sit in the car if the van isn't right there. It's 8.50 an hour but it's perfect to supplement my disability retirement with.

So for my friends who are still job hunting keep going. Don't let the hiring people bring you down. If you need some extra income till the right job comes along don't be afraid to take some pitiful job you think is below your standards. Any money coming in is good and doesn't mean you can't keep looking. It truly is easier to get job if you have a job. And if your thinking temp work and the one you signed up with isn't getting you anything go to the next one and the next one till someone has one.

Good luck my friends

Nervous....

I started this week and my new co workers are excited that I have experience. One thing I'm afraid is that I don't want to ask to many questions because I got laid off 3 months ago for asking to many questions.

Awesome Vacation

If you had the chance for an awesome vacation deal but you just started working a new job would you do it? I have the opportunity to go with a friend and get an amazing deal on a trip but it would only be two months since I started this job. Is that too soon? Will it make me look bad?

Scared

My sister got lucky and got a position similar to what she was doing at PNC after they threw her away after 30 years. Unfortunately the company is a well-known health insurance company that is in the process of merging with another health insurance company. I also recently interviewed there. Unlikely to go anywhere but there is a chance. As we all know mergers nearly always mean job loss. I am really scared about that possibility. So scared I can't be excited about her new job. I feel paralyzed with fear. Should I be concerned
