I’m not sure what to do
I finally got a job offer for a position I wasn’t originally serious about because of the starting pay which is significantly lower than what I am used to making in a similar position. I already tried negotiating a higher compensation package but was told that my offer is at the highest level they can pay an employee at that position right now. My finances are a mess as a result of a complicated divorce and being unemployed for so long. I’m concerned about accepting a position that won’t help me meet all of my financial obligations. I know something is better than nothing but I don’t want to have any resentments about accepting the job down the road. I have until the end of the week to respond but I’m not sure what to do. Should I say no thanks and continue to look for something better?

Asking for more money than is in the offer letter?
Need help. I think that I am about to get an offer for a job I really really want. The problem is that the pay range is kind of low. I know other people who negotiated their pay when the job was offered and the internet says that is the best time to negotiate. I am afraid of losing the job though. Has anyone else negotiated a higher salary before signing the offer letter?

Speak Now or Forever Hold Thy Peace
Do you think I have any wiggle room here to discuss another compensation package for a job offer I already verbally accepted? I was contacted with the initial job offer late last week which I quickly accepted over the phone but after talking to family and friends in the business I finding out that there’s an opportunity for a slightly higher pay rate than what’s currently being offered. I’ve never had to renegotiate a salary before so I’m not quite sure of the proper professional protocol and process to communicate this without having the offer completely retracted by the employer. I still haven’t received the official written copy of the offer yet but I’m expecting it’s going to arrive sometime this week. Any Suggestions?
