I am wondering if anyone has looked for a position through Care.com? Shortly after signing up th them, I began to get offers, but a with a catch; moving to my area, child with disabilities, parent with unusual job (interpreter, Braille consultant) and pay above the normal. Not too long into the exchange of emails, my social security number was requested for payroll or book keeping. I followed through on the first offer to the point of any money being exchanged, and showed up w a male friend for the meeting of family. No one showed up. I received numerous offers again and again. I could tell they were fake just by the wording and lack of English sentence structure. I sent Care.com a few letters inquiry if any one had that problem. Never heard from them. I am now relocating and though a nanny position would be the most flexible of my situation. I had no more saved my profile than these odd text messages started again. I did not put my phone number anywhere on the profile. I actually used a number for an phone that was lost, so how they got my number is questionable.

Any one else have concerns with this placement agency?

Being around kids has always been a lot of fun for me! I did a lot of babysitting growing up and loved coming up with games to play and all that with them. Since I like watching them so much I thought it would be good to be a nanny. I’m getting ready to move to a new state to start my very first nanny job and was wondering if it is basically the same as babysitting, just longer. Does anyone have any advice?
