Fired - No real reason?!? Then no pay...

I worked the hours then I got sick ONCE and I came back after I got better but I did the filing for absences, and it went through but the next day the area I was in had no one and the Manager told me to work with someone who had a very harsh tone/bark and didn't want help, so I went back to the Manager and they pulled me into their office and said I was fired cause of attendance and they way i walked and my 'mood'! The day before that they were making fun of me cause I was 'slow' even though my legs are different lengths and it's not my fault when i smile my face doesn't really show it like how others people's faces do, but now it's been almost a week since Payday and i made about $3k and I haven't received anything! Just thinking about it makes me sick, because the company has a strict no discrimination policy but I guess that doesn't fall on the management team? It's really bad for a company that big that's been around this long to make issues such as that...

Where are all the customer's boats?

There's an old story about a guy who sold his business in the midwest and reaped a few million dollars for it that he wanted to invest. He goes to New York and gets courted by various bankers for his business (i.e. to invest his money for him). One banker walks him to the pier and shows him these huge boats and talks about which ones are owned by various executives at his big ol' Wall Street firm - thus striving to prove how great they are with managing money. At which point the midwesterner asks "thats interesting, but where are all the customers boats?". Point is - there arent any. Which tells him a lot.
That's what I thought about when I read this article today. In Boston, Herb Chambers name is on most car dealerships you pass or read about or hear about. Yes, I applaud his success. Yes, I think free markets are great. But when I see the level of wealth he accumulated as described in this article I find myself surprised and asking the ol' question: Where are all the customer's boats?

Call times....

Collections can only call from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, the debtor's local time. Why do recruiters call before 8:00 am?

Good news - but 'Common Cents' obligations pending

I applaud Gov Stitt addressing some of the more obvious contributors to our mass incarceration mistakes. I do. But while we celebrate saving $11.9mm from this action - I hope and trust appropriate investment is being made (from the 11.9 even) to help these hundreds of people vocationally. After people serve their time, it's not just our responsibility but its also just good fiscal management to help get them to get that first post-incarceration-job and improve the probability that they stay on the right side of that prison gate! Its common sense AND 'common cents'! https://apnews.com/2a112be3f8cd4c5882ec5da8a89c7f49
