What I loved working at #FijiMilitaryForces
It's an honour to serve my country in the military...peace keeping service at Lebanon,East Timor,Egypt

What I loved working at #military
Being able to serve my country, deployments, and personnel

Completely overwhelmed
I have been looking for a QA testing position for two years almost. I’m a veteran and have worked in my field for five years. Everytime I interview I just get passed over. This doesn’t seem fair. I was happy two years ago as a contractor working on projects and then after going through three jobs in the Silicon Valley. It’s like nobody even wants to give me a chance. It’s not fair. I have experience, clean record, hard worker, military veteran, college educated and experience in my field. What more should I do to get my career going again? It just feels like I’m being taken seriously.

Transitioning from Military
After 30 years in the Navy finally transitioning to the civilian world. Excited for new adventures.

Frustrated
Hello, I'm just so frustrated in my current situation.Ive been unemployed for 18 months and it's hard to stay motivated.Im prior military and had to move back to my birthplace due to an ill family member. Its a very small town so I've been applying for jobs in the next biggest cities. The problem is most of them prefer you to be living there (local).I feel so trapped and I'm constantly thinking of solutions because I don't believe I will find work in my small town. The jobs are in the big cities. Does anyone have any advice?

Military member having a hard time finding a job
I need advice, please! I have been looking for a full time position as an Executive or Administrative Assistant with absolutely no luck! I am bilingual 100%, have over 23 years of experience working in the US and Europe and worked as an EA up until 2017. I am a member of the Air National Guard and was offered a full time position in my career field as an MP. I am coming up to my 2 year mark and desperately want to go back working as an Admin but am unable to. I have applied for countless jobs and barely get any responses back. Sometimes I believe it’s because I am a protected veteran but then I opt out of responding and nothing. Is the market really that bad or is it because I am in the military? I am starting to lose hope. Any thoughts or advice?
Thank you all!

Prior military hers
Hello everyone, I retired from the Navy 5 years ago and went directly to the shipyard. I'm trying to change profession. I did a lot in the Navy when it comes to labor work. But also I learned a lot of clerical work ie. Microsoft Excel, office, Powerpoint, and also keeping track of training of personnel, and managing supplies and equipment. The shipyard is a great place to work. But it's just not for me.

SR Stuart
I'm a 11 year Navy veteran that was retired due to injury on the job, earned an Associates degree in Industrial Technology and was a very successful Technical Instructor for over 25 years. I changed careers 4 years ago and got hired as as Maintenance Engineer and moved away from family and friends. I proved my worth over and over again to the company and my superiors but got very little reward for my hard work except a steady pay check. I was accused of something that I did not do and with very little thought on their part, terminated me.. I've been looking for employment for 3 months, almost depleted all of my reserved funds paying bills and seem to be under qualified for engineering jobs due to lacking a BS degree in engineering. I know I have more knowledge and experience and knowledge than anybody with just a 4 year degree and no job experience, but I have not had 1 call for an interview. I'm almost out of options. If there is a hiring manager out there that is looking for a dedicated, hard working maintenance professional like myself, please throw me a rope by contacting me through this portal or Linkedin. Thanks...

Frustrated Military Spouse
I recently moved back from Germany as that was our last station and it's been 5 months cannot find a job, not even get an interview I swear I've applied for any and everything over 100 applications and yes, I kept count. I know I have moved every 3 years but that's the military life. I loved retail but can't get anything. I'm ready to slice my wrist I'm so frustrated
