MACHINIST:

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Independently sets up and operates protoTRAK mills, lathes, saws, bending and pulltrusion operations. • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of machine tool technology. • Works with a wide variety of materials, selecting speeds, feeds, and tooling to efficiently machine any part assigned to this position. • Performs complete machining, deburring and cosmetic finishing of machined parts in a safe and efficient manner. • Performs layout and precision inspection utilizing knowledge of ANSI Y14.5M Documents methods and procedures for efficient setups on repeat jobs. • Utilizes the computer terminal to maintain accurate record keeping. • Participates in the safety program and contributes to a safe clean work environment. • Assists less skilled shop personnel with determining best methods to achieve desired results in a safe and timely manner. I learned to program and operate a C.N.C. drill. It's much different than all other C.N.C.s I have ran before. It's not stationary. It moves up and down a rail to multiple work stations. It drills horizontally not like standard vertical milling machine centers.It has touch screen control and very easy to program.
